#8I've just changed to an SD after only ever having sports bikes, my last being a Fireblade.
The best thing I've found is that on ride outs I enjoy every road, the twisties even if the road isn't perfect (which are rubbish on a blade) and the fast sweeping bends I loved on the Blade.
I used to commute on my blade which is ok, but the SD is wicked fun.
Haven't been on a trackday... if it's decent weather (like today) I'm going to go down to Brands Hatch (indy) on the 4th November.
The best thing I've found is that on ride outs I enjoy every road, the twisties even if the road isn't perfect (which are rubbish on a blade) and the fast sweeping bends I loved on the Blade.

#10yeah, i feel like that often, i miss the near-300 km/h runs.....
i think it is largely a case of "grass is greener on the other side"... when i had my 1000rr, i complained that i need a bike like SD... now that i have one, i complain that i need a superbike.... in truth i need 3 bikes: SD, superbike (new CBR1000rr or gsxr1000) and a dirt bike... if i could i'd add a super-tourer to that (for those loooong trips across the country), and busa or zx14, or k1200s for the days i just feel like speeding...
SD is a very versatile machine, it does many things well, great for race track/street/hooliganism, ok for (slow) touring, it even does well of road (ok, gravel road)... it handles amasing, is quite comfy, and the power isn't bad either. only aspect where she's lacking, is high speed... over 200km/h you can really feel that you could use few more ponnies, some more wind protection, and more confident handling...
what can you do? can't have it all.... at least not all in one.

#11Too bad you don't live close to me I have a mint 06 ZX10r for sale 3K miles black and not a scratch on it. I will give someone a really nice price. I had 7 motorcycles sold an EX500 and now I am selling my 10 and getting a sport touring bike. In the Atlanta, Ga area.

#16My S3 got totaled a month ago. One of the best bikes I ever had.
Loved that bike, it was fast, nimble and easy to toss around, great FI mapping, plenty of low torque & unmistakable style.
I was very happy with my Triple, I was sure I’m going to get another one, but then I thought about trying something else, like a non-Ducati V Twin for example, and here I am..
Is no question about you will enjoy your S3 or not - you will, for sure.
