right iv just checked the valve clearences on the old girl, took it all apart and went to set tdc on the rear cylinder and couldnt get the dots on both cams to line up with the head????? so i set at tdc with wire down the plug hole and the two cam lobes facing in and clearences were fine dont understand cos the front cylinder was easy, all marks lined up with the head and lobes were facing away from eachother witch is fine?????
i had an issue sort of like this when i used to ride motox i raced a kxf250 four stroke for a year then checked the shims and when i took the head off the marks looked like the exhaust cam was 1 tooth out (but the bike was running perfect)????? did the shims and put it back together LINING THE MARKS UP and the fooker wouldnt run so took it apart again and set it 1 tooth out and it run great!!!!!! found out the problem was that the sprocket on the end of the cam is only pressed on so somewhere throughout the year it had spun on the end (so the cam was in the correct possition for the timing but the sprocket with the marks on was out)
IS THIS FEASABLE ON THE SD
any oppinions are welcome
