Me

On our ride out I managed to hit Jocke up the arse on a roundabout We were coming off the A41 at a fair speed, approached roundabout, I looked and saw space for me to go, thought I saw Jocke go, looked again and there was still a gap before the car and so I went but unfortunalty I hadn't seen Jocke go at all and it was all too late Locked the front, hit him on the rear right of his bike. Story goes that I flipped over the handlebars (can't remember that) and landed on my right hip (sore) calling myself every cnut under the sun for doing such a stupid thing.

Guys were on it like a flash, had my bike and myself up. Amazingly Jocke kept his bike upright. More amazingly he was totally cool about the whole thing where he could have easily gone nuts as hitting someone like that is a schoolboy error

Damage to my bike is minimal, bent key, scraped tank shroud on left, smashed mirror, scraped clutch lever (already scraped from Bedford off) and scratches on headlight mask where it decided to fook Jocke's right handside can

Damage to Jocke's is a fooked Akra Evo can (see pic) and his home made billet numberplate hanger (so sorry dude) and an indicator. Fingers crossed there is no damage to the subframe.

Thanks to Shade and all for not taking the piss too much And to Jocke for being so cool about it all.

If anyone knows a good place to get a Evo can I'd be most appreciative.

Least no one was seriously hurt.
No but my ego has a similar dent as that Evo!

Was really lucky that neither of us were seriously hurt. Lesson learned.
Hey...... shit happens......i had parked my newly modded (graphics and paintwork...new micron race can...polished frame etc etc) zxr 750 and as i was walking away from it to go in to the cafe i heard this almighty crash...i turned around and there was my bike lying on the road....my pal had reversed his fireblade and knocked over my bike.

Can was gooshed paintwork was wrecked...lever etc etc.....i was gutted to say the least....but the thing is it could have happened to anybody, and i actually felt more sorry for my pal (jason) cos i could see he was soooo sorry for what he had done and was more gutted than me.
He offered to pay for all the damage which was fair enough.

As long as nobody was hurt that's the main thing klinck.
One of my work mates came out for a ride there were a few of us he binned it on a corner (on the road I took you on Klinck near Mablethorpe) we waited for him and the others but 5 mins later the postie passed us to say he had crashed so we tootled back to see if he was ok.

My mate on his RSV parked his bike up on the sidestand only for it to fall through the shitty tarmac two minutes later at the side of the road, gutted he was, but these things happen.
And yes at least no one was hurt, shit happens, I know repair parts are available for the cans , here in the states at KTM TWINS.COM , must be able to get em in GB I would think, and again good you didn't get hurt,,,,
Klink , You've got some great M8s. Forgiven ain't the same as forgotten. This should be great Pub fare for years!
There is a set on ebay start £400 Ouch !
If you like it hard up the rear then call Colonel Klinck...he'll go in fast and dry when you least expect it!

Glad you're ok mate, bikes can be fixed...ego's are harder to mend!
It was a shame you missed out on the twisty bits, we hit some good roads.

Shade's tyre decided it didn't like the abuse and decided to wear itself down to the cords! The guys went off to Joker's pad to bung another tyre on his bike to get him home in a safer and more legal state.

My rigging of the go pro wasn't ideal, so my idea of cool photos consisted mostly of my tail piece:roll: I have to rethink my mounts.
Cool pix Ben, I like pix with the wide angle lens, think there will have to be a caption competition for one this one though!

Glad you're OK, Klinky. Bits can be mended.

Like I said to you then and there; Glad I've got the Evos on, if I would have sported the stainless steel OEM can, it would have ripped your bike to shreds and put my bike's subframe out.

As it stands, all looks pretty OK apart from the can, the plate hanger, indicators on it, and the plate itself has cracked to.

Shade told me that he got the orange zipties from you initially; how ironic.

You missed some nice wheelies down the line, but in fairness there was just too many tin-cans on the road to have any real fun.

Top lads all round. Shade got my old BT016 to carry him home as his other tyre was showing thread (not tread) when we hit OnYerBike for some food.

Next time we'll do it longer, faster, better!
Edited for plates....

Sympathies Klink. I once ran up the back of my mates Suzuki AP50 on a Fizzie and we both went down outside the local cafe. Tres humiliation. Back then it was a hammer and vice and everything was just bashed back into shape.

Good one Joker for taking the right attitude though, a good mate indeed.
at the pic of Klinck with his credit card!!! I was too busy checking my phone (in the background) to notice but that's hilarious!!

All good pub stories in the years to come fellas. Jocke was a TOP TOP bloke for being very cool about it. SD riders are the best kind of bloke there is!

Here's to the next rideout fellas!!

I'm just glad/amazed it wasnt me!! I'm going to stay in for a month so I dont jinx it.
Klinck.....you have my sympathies, its going to be a while i think before you live that down!!!

Joker ..... your a good sport dude, some peeps would get all twitter and bisted over that kind of thing, but i guess riding an SD means you gotta have a sense of humour to put up with the occaisional act of extreme nuggetism!! Joker we salute you for you gentlemanly ability to laugh it off!

I have come within a hairs breadth of doing the same to ronin in dorset, his reaction was the same .....although he did look a little disappointed about my failiure to take him from behind properly.... he asked for greater accuracy next time!

Speaking of ronin....... just spoke to him and all is going well on his grand adventure.......

Glad you're alright Samba, lucky you didn't damage any cars on your way down so just yourself to worry about.
If you go the repair route I have all the pop rivets, tools etc. for the Akro rebuild. Can't see if those new Evo silencers have those rivet-nuts as well as the pop rivets but if they do I also have a stock of them and Big Ash has the rivet tool to apply them.

Shame they are not round silencers - then I'd offer to rebuild them for you - easy fix for about £40. But you will all go and get these fancy section things won't you.

Generous words I was told from the day I started driving 22 years ago that if you hit someone up the arse its your fault period! Had to put my hand up and take the piss taking and hit on wallet on the chin.

If anyone knows where I can lay my hand on a schematic for the Full Evo can 08 onwards that would be amazing. Have emailed Akrapovic but have emailed them before and not even go a reply so not holding my breath.

Cheers
If you can't find a schematic, don't worry. I'm sure we can figure it out.

PS, I was told the same, and I've had to do the same, I was 19 at the time, and it involved cars.
Glad you are ok and the damage is not too bad. Must say this is is why I prefer riding alone and not in groups seen it happen so many times. Only takes a second to score an own goal!
