I spoke with my dealer today about the issue of the warranty. Acording to him its up to the discretion of the dealer wether or not to cover warenty issues. In other words If I chose to do the maintnace myself there is not a problem keeping the warranty in check, on the other hand if I put the cams in wrong and bend all the valves and its obviosly my falt its my problem.

Good news is NO KTM cannot force you to have them do routine maintance to keep the warranty in good standings.

Or at least thats how I understand it at this point

Well I do know a thing or two about mechanic work ( lots of hours with friends around cars and bikes) but for some reason on my bike I prefer to leave it to a professional.

My SD was bought second hand, no worries about warranty, so I just gave all the SD manuals on a CD to a mechanic I trust.

No problems so far and the bike just keeps getting better
