Before Bert strikes me down for creating an unnecessary thread, I have tried to find the answer to this in the other CycleControl threads but came up dry.
The question I have for any of you that have fitted this kit is: did you follow the torque recommendations in the manual, or did you just dab a bit of 243 on, do it up tight and hope for the best?
I started the fit yesterday and went off the manual spec of 25Nm (approx 18ft/lbs) for the M8 bolts that secure the adaptor plates to the frame. The head on the bolt provided rounded at about 20Nm. I have some better bolts on order but I'm not sure a hex headed bolt has any business being torqued that high.
I notice the stock bolts KTM use to secure the footrest have Torx heads which generally respond better to higher torque values in my experience.
Can anyone confirm whether they disregarded/followed the manual or did their own thing?
