Hi Guys,

I'm off to the Nurburgring in May, I haven't taken my SD on a long tour before. With fuel getting so extortionate now its getting more important.

Its the 09 model with the bigger tank. I'm wondering what range you guys have managed on a tank of fuel? Is 140 miles reasonable to expect? I'm sure we'll be cracking on a bit so average of 80mph ish.

Also I know everyones going over to TuneEcu but is there a way to max fuel economy with a Power Commander?

Any other tips to maximise fuel economy?

Cheers Guys
I havent done much touring but I've been logging my fuel consumption to see how it performs compared to how I ride it.

On average I get 10-11 l/100kms on the weekly commute.

But when I do longer rides I've gotten between 6.6 - 7.7 l/100kms and thats with about half of the trip being twisities the rest highway/freeway.
On the highway, long straight sections I'd whack it in 5th or 6th gear depending on the speed limit and let her chug along at low RPMs.
Not sure it helps but maybe you'll get more of an answer from someone else?
Doing a ton/ton twenty you should get one ten to one twenty out of her..Have fun..
I did a 300km (185mi) tour a week or 2 ago on my 09 SDR, about half of it was freeway cruisin at about 140kph (87mph) rest was small backroads (no playing with redline though). The yellow light came on at about 220km (137mi), dunno what that means in mpg or l/100km though.

I was getting about 140 to a tank before the light came on when I went to the ring last year.
Awesome, so about 40 mpg should be possible then.

How did you get on at the ring then Arg?
