Trip to the dyno

well some of you might remmeber i took my SD to the dyno a few weeks and it was lean as a mofo, using one of the maps.

So anyway, the guy who tunes my car was over from the states and we were tuning some cars. When we were waiting for some other cars to arrive we threw the SD on the dyno dynamics rollers. strapped it down and got to work

My mate initialy adjusted the fueling before i rode to the dyno from the lean map above, so anyway did the first pull it was 106 whp and still very lean and fueling off

so we reverted to the stock ktm akro map and had a little play, the fueling is bang on now, some more nice mid range and top end, feels great from 5k... only added 1 deg of timing atm.

we wanted to play with it some more and part throttle/2nd throttle, and the ignition map, but due to time constraints and car tuning up we took it off the rollers.

over all at the moment the map is good, safe and runs great but more work is needed to make it 100% perfect, but he is back in a couple of months and we are going to spend an hour on it and book no cars in, and hopfully it will be bang on then.


It made on a car dyno dynamics 116 whp in the end and 70 lbtq. iirc

i might drop by the orginal dyno i had my bike done on and see what its putting down now, but to be honest the bike feels 100% better.

You must have had a real POS custom map on there because the stock map is rich.

Very timely post Rallsy. I've just put on my Motobox, removed the SAS and second flies and disabled the O2 sensors on my 09 SMT and have tried it with the KTM Akro map and also a map that James has modified with some info from yourself ( according to the details of it in the map sticky in the "How To Do It" ). Originally the map would not load with TuneECU so I copied the tables over manually into the Ktm Akro map and the bike sucked it up fine.

I am a bit concerned after riding it that it is running lean ( the temp gauge is running higher particularly around 2000 to 4000 rpm on small throttle openings ) and have been looking for a map that would be suitable for my setup ( nearest dyno is 700 k's away ).

If you don't mind posting up your map ( or pm me ) it would be a great help as I'm concerned about running it with too lean a map and I'm a bit worried about riding it in the present condition.

what's your bike's spec Rallsy? I'm happy with my current map but if someone out there has a custom one with no secondary flies then I'd love to give it a go...
