Tune ECU Dyno run

Just got back from my local Dyno Guy (Kev @ Projex) where we've spent the morning mapping my bike with Tune ECU. I had the bike dynoed by Kev in February before i Fitted my Motoholigan airbox and it put out 106 BHP and 70 ft/lb of torque. (Kev uses a Dyna Pro dynometer not a Dynojet one so add 4bhp for a comparable to a Dynojet run. Mine put out 110 on a Dynojet last year.)

So today we did a run with the new airbox and James map installed on the ECU..... 110 BHP and around 70 lb's of torque (haven’t got the graphs yet as i forgot to save them on my memory stick! Will update when i get them) James map was pretty good we did a little tweaking with air/fuel and got 112bhp. (Torque never really varied at all with any of our tweaking always 69 or 70)

Next we advanced the ignition and got 116BHP!

Called it a day after that we'd done over 20 runs and 24 miles on the dyno!

Kev reckons there may be more power to find if we got readings from each cylinder separately and spent a bit more time getting to grips with Tune ECU, but a good start.

Kev was impressed by the capabilities of Tune ECU but found it a bit frustrating to use. It wouldn't connect on his main PC (XP) at all and we had to use a laptop (Win 7) in the end.

Did you have to do the 15 min reset everytime you changed the map ?

Ah really I thought you could not do live tuning

Awesome news then as I was thinking it would have to be a 15 min reset all the time

No disconnection issues on his laptop at all, took me a while to get it working, but once it was no problems. Not working on his PC though no connection at all. I might go back and try and to get it working on his PC though 'cause he'd rather have it on there. Yep you can borrow my cable, just let me know when, I can meet at Kev's or you can collect from my house, i'm only 10 minutes from Kev's.
