Saw a youtube vid of a 990 for sale back in 2012. He said he had Tuono mirrors installed and they looked good. Anybody tried it? Know what year is compatible?

I have tuono mirrors on mine and the vision is good.
They are from the 06-10 model and are shared with a bunch of other euro bikes including the rotax powered Bee ems

I have them on mine as well. I bought them way back in 2006 for another bike I had at the time. They cost me a $40 for the pair through a local dealer. They aren't that cheap anymore.
They've been on plenty of bikes and finally made their way onto the Superduke two years ago. They look good, offer a decent view and do not disturb the air too much. If you can get them for a decent price, I'd say go for it. Cheaper than many other options out there and work good.
