Turns out the Ducati Streetfighter has fueling issues, too

I had a chance to look at a Ducati Streetfighter S yesterday, and arranged a test ride for tomorrow. In reading some Ducati forums online, I found that MANY SF owners are very upset about surging and rough, lean running at low RPM. Similar problems to the fueling issues with the SD, probably due to poor closed loop ECU control using oxygen sensors. The new SF owners are considering solutions that will sound familiar to SD owners. They are trying FatDuc O2 manipulators to alter closed-loop fueling, Termignoni slip-ons exhaust without catalytic converter and factory ECU remap to run open-loop all the time, and hoping for help from the PowerCommander V. Sound familiar?

A little more info about FatDuc O2 manipulators for the SF, with background on why we are all having problems with low RPM/low load fueling:

mine is nowhere near as bad as my Super Duke was... On a scale of 1-10 Super Duke being a 10 the Duc is a 4. The people that are complaining about the fueling in the streetfighter would HATE the factory SD fueling. I think a lot of it depends on what you just came off of. If you had a Jap 4 all the euro twins will feel like a throttle switch

sounds familiar but, after adding Termis and the chip to my Hypermotard, the fueling was spot on and no more adjustments were need, if I were a street fighter own it would be termis without a doubt, I think some manufacturers fueling technology for coping with emission laws are better than other, and to be fair Ducati has had a lot more years experience and that shows, all across KTM;s range, the SDR has its particular issues, but then its a race bike engine being used for road work, akro's, map, PC3 sort it, but when my SDR days are up I could really see an SMT here, the fueling has not put me off KTM, I just know what to expect when you ride each make back to back, each gives you a smile, but in different ways,
