tyre pressure for optimum sport riding

Hey fellas,

Curious what you all are running for tyre pressure front and rear? I'm trying to achieve the optimum pressure for sport riding on the street. I'm not concerned with tyre wear, just maximum hook-up and lean angle. Oh, I have an 08 with stock tyres and suspension is set on sport. Currently I'm running 27 psi front and rear.

i popped into my local bike shop and just got them to stick some air in me tyre's for me and they said the book psi was 34 front and bk?

Tyre manufacturers understand their tyres best. You should run what they recommend. Most top shelf sports tyres are recommended to run 35/36 psi both f/r on the street.

I regularly run my rear up to 40 psi with good grip and good wear results.

I live in a warm part of the world and summer time riding will see road surfaces around 60 degrees cent. and high pressures are not a problem.

Of course a bit of melted sticky tar on the tyre does'nt hurt your grip levels either.

BT002s and 003s.

30F and 31R from cold. These pressures work excellent on the street. Warm up quickly, offer good compliance and don't squirm around.

Haven't had them on the track but would suspect I'd be looking at 28/29 or there abouts.
