Guys…after 50 years of riding, I've purchased my first set of "true" leather riding pants. Asking what is the preferred material for underwear for leathers. I understand cotton is a no-no…so is silk, compression, double layer moisture wicking or ??? the proper choice. Brand names would be helpful...Thanks

#2I generally wear Under Armour. I also have a one piece A*'s suit. Both work about the same. The key is wearing something that fits skin tight and is slick so the suit slides off when you are drenched in sweat.

#4You could get a leather thong to go with your leather riding pants ala Village People. However, if you have been riding 50 yrs you must be 60+ and not even Gok Wan would be into that look.
I suggest something all encompassing like an EDZ undersuit or long sleeved vest and long johns like the Waltons used to wear.
Personally I see nothing wrong with cotton, in our climate at least, I often go out dressed as Miley Cirus from the wrecking ball performance under my leathers. Should the worst happen at least I am certain to make the newspapers

Got a Kawasaki Ninja Union Suit back in the 80's for Xmas. Red suit with the Ninja LoGo. No Shit.
Well, ate something bad on a winter ride. You guessed it..had to take a shit and fast.
Had to take every frinking thing off except my socks, in a firkin crappy bar/diners one hole shitter stall with others piss on the floor.
That will teach ya about Union Suits..

#19Winter has finally gone it's way and one of our annual riding events was last week. Thanks to all (except Agro) for your suggestions on under garment choices. Tried a couple types (knee length compression & full length ski type) and will say that the longer ones make for much easier removal of the leather after a long day of riding. Was very surprised at how comfortable the leather was in high 70's low 80's temps.
