Just a heads up for the few who expressed interest in m y tale of woe.
The dealer and insurance company finally did their thing on Friday. I got a message ( I sleep days mostly, so missed it) saying that they'd be done accessing it for valuation sometime next week. I assume at this point that I will then begin the process where I prove I can't possibly replace the bike for what they want to give me. Joy.
BUT... I am in a happier place, having gotten the new Triumph home. For those saying its a shit bike... I'll just have to remember that, when viewing any of your other posts and opinions. Your information is now suspect, in my eyes.
Its a beautiful bike. The fit and finish is great. It runs and rides amazing, corners on rails (even though I'm scared of her since Its the first full tuck bike I've owned). It has features on the dash that every bike ought to, and few do. The coolest among them are instant MPG, elapsed MPG and tops speed. No more guessing at fuel mileage or top speed runs when you're too afraid to look down.
The triple sounds great, especially when you're under load and heavily on the pipe. Easily the coolest sounding stock bike/exhaust setup I've seen/heard. The power delivery is very smooth and strong. Obviously its not a Duke, it doesn't quite stretch my arms the way she did, but maybe it won't stretch the license from my wallet either. Who am I kidding? I could lose my license on a 150cc scooter.
