Vibrations?

I don't think I've ever ridden a twin before, and I certainly have never owned one so I was just wondering. . . does the SD surfer from much vibration? I'm particularly concerned about the handle bars. I've got problems with my throttle hand and am a bit worried that to much vibration might make it too uncomfortable to ride.
I know most dealers will say that it's not a problem these days with modern bikes but I'd rather hear the truth from the riders instead of the sellers.
Any input you guys can give me would be great.

There are some vibrations especially in the mid to high RPM range, but with decent gloves and boots I haven't had it become an issue. As for your problem with the throttle hand, you may have to experiment with different types of gloves and levels of padding in order to alleviate the problem, but I dont think it's something that cant be overcome.

Hello Arcanum, this was a concern of mine also, I do not find it a problem at all, I have no bar ends either, still no real numbness in my hands, actually because of my engine related mind, there are spots in the rev range i intentionally avoid during hard throttle inputs, the LC-8 is a smooth twin IMHO but in certain areas if you gas it in the wrong place, the LC8 will shake violently, I stay away from these area's for 2 reasons, one is the harsh vibrations will cos things to fall off and it is hard on the whole bike, then for the vibration coming through to my tunnel carpel hands and wrists, coming from clip-on's and canted over like a pretzel to straight up with handlebars relieves most of the stress on the hands and wrists.. a good test for this concern is to compare the SD with a 1ltr in line 4, I can still see out of the mirrors most of the time, much like all of my sportbikes. the buzzing of the inlines seem to annoy me more than the pulse of the twin on long straight ride out's. A good long test ride will ultimately uncover your question and possibly nothing else but pure unadulterated lust.
