video camera mount?

#3I've bought an Archos bullet cam, but I've not mounted it yet. I'm going to try to mount it behind the front wheel somewhere in/under/on the battery box cowl. We'll see.

#7Here's my video camera mounted on my handlebars at Brands, was videoing a mate....quality is much better prior to youtube compression, but it gives you a flavour for the vibes etc

#15Here is my mount...it's the GoPro HD with their suction cup mount. Tough as nails and won't come off during a ride. I mount it on my SD shroud but you can stick it anywhere it's reasonably flat.

#17Well, the mount is specific to the GoPro, however, I'm sure it could be modified or made to use with other cameras. I would go to their website and check it out.

#19Picked up a GoPro HD Motorsports package today!
So far, I'm extremely pleased with the camera. You can mount it virtually anywhere using either the suction cup mount or the 3M adhesive mounts.
One issue I ran into however: I tried using my 16G PNY Optima Class 4 SDHC card in it and it kept freezing the camera. Upon looking into it, it seems this specific card wreaks some kinda mean havoc on the GoPro and it's a well documented issue. For anyone wanting a GoPro, avoid this brand of card.
Gonna try to have vids coming soon!

#20Yup...GoPro is finicky on what cards will work. Consult their web site for particulars.

I have not had vibration evident when running the go pro on the RSVR using the suction cup. But as I suggested, attach a tether string to the mount just in case. Easier than backtracking 5ks looking for your camera !

#32I just made my own cam mount. I made it so it clamps to the top of the bar clamp with a hose clamp. Unfortunately it vibrates enough to blur the pic. Any ideas???

I put a rubber washer under the camera, between the camera and mount, but it still shakes. Too bad, cause the picture was pretty good at a stand still.

#34Well, for starters its aluminium, but thats not important. My bro in law (who welded it up for me) Had a Go Pro unit, which he graciously gave me! I owe him big. He picked it up for $100.00 I tried it out today & I'm thoroughly impressed! One thing I did notice is that where the cam mount snaps into the stick on mount is a loose fit & the camera bobbles around a bit. THIS is where all the noise comes from. I wedged a piece of paper between & it sits perfectly still. I stuck it to the top of the gas tank, up near the gas cap. VERY good angle, and when I do the paper trick, I'm going to see if I can set the record volume to HI and get better sound. Won't be for a few days, as its now drizzling off & on. I'll keep ya's posted!
