Also, sorry I neglected to mention this - I have hit my head many times by now - we have actually been using these chassis parts since before we ran at Laguna last July, it's just we were on the prototype triple clamp (exact same construction, just no finish, and Nichols wanted to be sure it proved it's mettle before he made the first run). Honestly, if not for these parts we would never be where we are with the Superduke today.
Basic reasons we needed these parts:
Not enough trail in stock trim (no matter what tyre you use)
Not enough ride height in stock trim (once you really start jamming out there)
No ability to alter ride heights in stock trim for different tyre brands/profiles/shapes (no matter what size or brand you intend to use - they all created differences which drastically affect how your bike goes down the road)
Lastly, as far as the rear ride height clevis goes, we have found it is a great advantage to not only be able to raise the rear ride height, but also to LOWER it.
Having good swingarm angle is vital on paper (the Superduke swingarm is relatively flat), which suggests you might want to raise the rear to gain swingarm angle for better traction - but we have not found rear traction to be an issue with the Superduke so far. Mostly we have struggled with the steep angle of the forks, leading to such little trail up front. Raising the front of the motorcycle helps get better trail numbers, as does keeping the rear low as it was stock (after you mount a better rear tyre, which could also be taller).
Suspension and chassis set-up is a never ending compromise. It's like the Give and Take Olympics. Until we can go as fast as we have gone on our 749R with similar hp, we will not have earned the Olympic Gold medal of set-up compromise.
