Bloody hell weeksy I havent cracked a 100 miles yet even running it on fumes. 15 litres seems to go so quickly.
I've got the bigger 07 tank and MY reserve comes on after around 100 miles!!! I ran out of fuel the other day just on 125 and that was on a run (very little stop-start)...

fooking hilarious Toby !! You're on fire tonight mate
05 SD - I'll just say up front that I hate the fact that the gas light goes on so damn early. Even though I know where I'm at in terms of tank level, I'm constantly wanting to stop and fill up whenever it's lit. Only serious gripe for me. I can deal with the small-ish tank, but that light is a real pain.

I commute daily on the SD, so have had ample time to calculate.

For straight motorway miles I get a steady 39mpg. Usually fill up around 125-130, took it all the way to 142 once...light goes on around 85miles on the ODO.

Mixed daily riding (motorway/city), drops down to around 30mpg, light goes on anywhere 55-65miles, and I fill around 100mi's.

Weekend sprints, fill up around 90 miles, light goes on early.

I'm always filling way ahead of where I think I need to, lowest I've taken the tank is 1/4-gal leftover. I really, really don't want to run out of gas!
