Waterproof Door or Non-Waterproof Door

First trackday with the GoPro. Which door should I use? Camera is mounted on the right side of the Headlight mask.

I always use the waterproof door and am happy with the sound although I do keep thinking about trying the skeleton door.

i feel like the audio is so tin-ey anyway that I prefer protecting the camera body from dust/dirt w/ the waterproof door in general. Just be warned when using the waterproof door, if you've got the cam ON for several minutes in the right conditions, you can get partial/entire fogging of the lens port unless you swab on antifog.

I've heard of guys modding w/ an external mic setup, but that's probably too overkill....

hmmm maybe I should do a back to back audio/door test someday

I started off using water proof door, tried skeleton door, now use it all the time...sound quality much better

I run my GoPro offroad and always run the open door...better sound quality...never worry about dust...the thing is bullet proof...only time I run the oterh backing is if it's threatening rain.
