bike been off the road after a little spill in aug. just got it all back together last night so decided to take my shinny new leather out and go for a spin (just to make sure everything was working the way its supposed too. got 20km up the road and she dies on me, flat battery. bad and all as that was the thing that pissed me off most was that its a brand new yuasa..... so, arrived home 2 hours later on the back of a truck.... what a bitch....
Check the rectifier with a cheap circuit tester! Quite a few SD owners on here have had to replace theirs, it's a known issue.
ye, thought that myself.... anyone got a spare one
I think they are a relatively inexpensive item.
hope so, will call the dealer in the morning...
I just ordered one as a spare,, afier having read of all the probs with these things,,, cost here in the states was 100 USD,,,,,,,
FIRST - check the connection between the regulator and the battery negative.

The wire often breaks at the connector.
cheers pete, i'll look at that tomorrow......
yeah save yourself spendin for a regulator, as that was the prob I had, got 20-30 km's away from home and dead.

the -ive cable to the battery had a break in it, new terminal and jump start fixed the SD up, no probs since.!
