Is the SD going mainstream?
Well, it's just come out on top in naked bike tests in both Fast Bikes and Bike magazine (where it beat the Streetfighter). Although this just confirms what we've known all along I'm a little shocked to see objectivity creep into the UK mags after years of touting the Speed Triple as the greatest ever naked... I've ridden it and it aint..
Bike is still one of the best mags going though and I'm pleased to see they're catching up on the marvels of the SD..
But, there is a big but here, the secret's out.. I just hope the SD doesn't become the new run of the mill Gixxer or R1.. Then again it has too much personality for that. I've ridden the new R1 and it's dull as dishwater compared to the lively, instant, explosive nature of the Super Duke..And that's what I appreciate..
