What's your best fuel consumption

Just had a great weekend with some long time mates drinking piss, telling porkies and laughing about old times. On the way home I managed some great fuel figures of 280 klm without my fuel light coming on. When I filled her up she took 14.4 litres. This was all highway cruising with speeds between 100 - 125 kph. plus slowing through towns etc. I know for a fact that I get at least 50klm after my fuel light.

I'm running FMF pipes with motohooligan airbox sas disc. and Guy & James map. Anyone had fuel figures this good or better.

Riding a SD is about USING fuel...a lot of it!

don't pay to much attention to MPG as there isn't much you can do about it. I get 90 miles out of £16.50 ish I don't even know how many gallons that is. just fill it up and go again.

I agree with you all about no point in being too limp-wristed so i can handle the 7.5 miles per litre

but 84 miles till the reserve light comes on is not good

There must be a way to put a bigger tank on a 2006 bike

I've gotten up to 200 miles from 4.4 gallons of fuel, but usually average around 170 and need about 4.2 gallons at fill up. My low fuel light usually comes on around 160. I do lots of full throttle blasts and keep rpm above 4k in twisty areas, but I don't go much above 4k rpm in regular around town commuting. I have a Motobox, Akra Evos, Akra map, O2 eliminators and SAS removed. Before those mods I had to keep rpm up higher because the throttle was so jerky. It seems really efficient to me considering how strong it runs. I've documented every fill up from new till now (7600 miles) and average around 47mpg. I live at 4,000 feet elevation and I'm not sure if maybe that helps my mileage.

I get fook all a gallon! Quite proud of that too!

I agree! Once I move from this area with straight roads I expect it to drop some, but I can't complain about any aspect of this bike's performance... even with lots of full throttle, the worst mpg has been 37 mpg. I am amazed how fast it is, and although I didn't buy it for efficiency, I am impressed with how it uses fuel. I weigh about 175lb. I have to ride about an hour to get to any decent curves right now and I'm sure that helps the mileage.

Well i need the big tank and maybe a re-map
yesterday i was getting only 33mpg (british gallons = 20 floz) - with no wheelies or 100+

If I stop and work out what its does (.....more like dosent do) to the gallon I get depressed....so.... when the light comes on fill up....ride

Once I made a conserted effort to see what I could get out of the tank (.....I will try anthing once)....it made no difference at all in fact it did slightly less....I took this as a sign......not to be stupid and mess with nature

Problem is... Some of the areas we ride in AUS can have a petrol stations over 100km away... There's been a few times that I got worryingly lean on fuel... Especially when you get carried away. Have emptied an 06 model in 75km with an akra map... That was a brisk ride... Reason why I bought one was that bike

OH MY GOD. Fuel consumption, Klink was right with bang for buck! If you want good MPG buy a Honda CBF 1000 then you can brag about how clean your bike is and friendly to the environment! Boring is just not enough to cover it! This weekend my wife, luggage, me and my SD will be off to the Yorkshire pudding rally, the bike will be overloaded as usual, but don't for a minute think that we wont be laughing, swearing, acting like children and abusing the queens highway on the SD. As for MPG I will be aiming for bugger all a gallon and buggered tyres... Hi Hooooooooooooooooooo!

6 miles per litre/30 mpg is only of interest 'cos it tells me it's running far too rich.

My last tank revealed 40 miles/gallon. I was pleasantly surprised but do realise that I had not been ham fisting the throttle during the last excursion.
Normal spirited riding yields about 33-35 miles/gallon. Stock map, Leo Carbons, O2 Eliminators, 10% ethanol supplemented fuel.

Motobox, secondary flys, round ark a pipes. I get about 32mph... or about 129 miles before the fuel light comes on.

Easy 180 mile range, 11.5 miles per litre, that's 50 mpg at 90-100 all day over 600 miles.











That was Silverstone & back on the Hayabusa this weekend.

What's the KTM do to the gallon? don't know, don't really care, never actually checked it after 5 years of ownership, 24 miles max with the light on & get as much in there again - it's not that kind of bike, especially the early ones where you can't see the trip when the clock is showing.

I think i need to get mine on a dyno or somethin.

Get 80miles at most till light comes on. Then 10-15 miles and it's spluttering and dying at lean. Got a fuel receipt here showing it took 14.15litres and that was after a hard ride for 87miles. Cost £19.51 to ful with std unleaded.

Running basically standard bike. PC3 with akra map, round akra cans, 16/38 gearing. Inside of cans end pipes are a nice dark charcoal/grey colour after a run so assumed it was running well. I'm a mechanic so know what a rick running engine smells like, and it smells fine to me. No low rev snatching, rel nice smooth power all way through rev range, it feels real nice. Thats what confuses me about all the fueling post on here, coz my bike has never had that issue.

What kind miles per tank are the track guys getting??

Mileage was amazingly a lot better than my MV Agusta Brutale 750 when comparing for gas consumption during tracks days. At the same track, same amount of sessions, and same group..the KTM used about 5 gallons for the day, while the MV used about 8. I thought for sure the bigger KTM motor would use more.

40 mpg with Otto EVO4 map and leos

Not too fussed about MPG but I like to be comfortable pushing every last drop out of the tank before I fill up (don't know why tbh, just a habit )

I got 14.7 litres in my 05 once after it had run out 3 times getting to a garage.

Last week in France I got 18.9 litres in my 08! Thought they were 18.5L tanks!?
