Regarding the back brake, it's not that powerful but it stopped the couple almost-loopy ones ( ) I've had in the past. Just stamp down hard, it works! And I suppose the engine braking we get from the big twin also helped!

Regarding shifting, are you using the clutch? I've never changed gear while wheelie'ing, but have heard it's better with no clutch; just preload the shifter, close the throttle a bit and at the same time slip the gear in and get back on the gas. Also heard do this while the wheelie's still climbing to not lose too much height and/or momentum. Best to practice clutchless shifting on the level if you haven't done it before...

But like I said, I've never changed gear during one; from what I have read, hopefully Sabre or Bigtoby will chime in...

Interesting! The horse riding and the language. I love youtube!
If you bring it up to balance point you won't have to shift. The reason you're running out of revs is because you aren't bringing it high enough.

You can drag the rear brake to keep it balanced.

OK - I tried the power wheelie on second and it won't go just like that.
I had to pull it very strong and the speed 60km/h is not possible. I've made it at 90km/h but not to high. On the 3rd I thing is not possible for me.
Next time I'll trie using clutch.

something that might help is to find a road that has a nice steady incline. it's easier to wheelie on a road that is slightly going up. give it a try.

I can appreciate the idea of stand up wheelies and have had success in bringing the bike up quickly with stand ups. The problem is the quickly part. Things just happen too fast for my slow brain to feel all warm and fuzzy on the pegs. I'll sit, I do that pretty good most of the time. I have never fallen off the couch while watching people pull wheelies on TV. Plus I do not have access to the panic button when standing. You know, the rear brake.
