Today i had the oppertunity to get some practice in after finding a new location, 3/4 of a mile of nice flat tarmac, no people, no buildings... just road and a few trees. It leads no-where and goes nowhere so there's no cars.
According to my mentor i was getting it up too later in the rev range, approx 4000 and he advised to be picking up at 3000 instead. This is now working a treat.
I still have the inconsistency at times, but my last run i got 3 out of 4 really nice. I had a monster coming back into my vialllage in front of 2 Teens hee hee.
They're gettting a fair bit higher now and more consistenly at that height, and a bit of a carry in there too. My last wheelie i was very proud of as i held it for a couple of seconds at the height .... Awsome.
Practice makes perfect they say.... lets see what we can do.
My only worry is that i'm a bit of a 1 trick pony, i can only pick it up in 1st and at a particiular rpm. But i'm being as patient at possible and waiting until i get get it up pretty much every time to a decent height and length before moving onto other gears/speeds etc. I ideally want to be able to pick it up with the clutch in 2nd/3rd at a decnt speed and carry it for 50-100m.... Although, that feels a long way away at the moment.
