Which Seat Cowl?

Hoping all you seat cowl owners can help me out. I want to get one to help stop me from sliding back on the seat (and hanging onto the bars so hard) when heading down the straights. I've done some searches, but I can't tell if they all attach with little tabs. I've read about a few breaking the mounting tabs. I'm hard on stuff and I worry that I'll just break one repeatedly. I don't care if it's ugly - can't make me look any worse! - just want one that is robust. Or, if I'm misguided about having one please tell me that!

I sure like the looks of the SDR solo seat over the SD seat. That would be a good way to go. I have not done the homework to know how much is involved to make the swap. I see SDR race glass on e-bay for the tail section. That might be my next winter project. I hear ya thinking that the few screws that hold the small cover will be in need of repair in no time. To bad there is that seat lock on the seat top rear section. I guy could have his seat reshaped with a custom bump stop to fit their b-hind. Not hard to reshape a seat with the correct foam. Some Ka-Tooms have a key-less pull wire seat release that is hidden on the side. You might buy a extra seat and have at it. A road rashed seat should go for $25-$40. That way you still have the other seat if you want to take a date for a spin.

I'll tell you that you'd break the mounting tabs on the KTM CF cowl, so don't get that one.

Thanks guys. Good thoughts, and I appreciate it.

I completely forgot the possibility of an SDR tail - if I can find one.

Hell, I even forgot that I have a torn up extra seat from a track crash. I'll see if I can find someone around here who does seats. I'd give it a go, but I would just turn it into a big pile of poo.

Hmmm...welllll...that sucks that the $300.00+ seat cowl breaks...I was thinking about pickin' up one too.. When I purchased my Superduke I got the gel seat with the package...Just took my stock seat to get it trimmed up..Still need to take it back and get it trimmed a bit more...It's better now the way he cut the front down..Sticks you in the front of the seat...Just want it rounded a bit narrower...Should work out nice...Guess I'll look into the shorter aftermarket seat cowl...Anyone break that one on here..??? How do they hold up..?????
