I've had a chat and done a search but I thought I'd ask the forum which tank they prefer.
I've tried to include all the major opinions, but feel free (I know you will ) to voice any opinion on the topic.
I've now got a couple in my shed and I was looking at the differences and trying to decide and wondering what he new one would be like.
This is SD related so I put it in Hooliganism but feel free to move it wherever guys.
PMSL... I knew I couldn't cover them all!Image
Ive had both size tanks and i prefer the look of the larger more angular tank which i think suits the bike better!

However, as my bike is now used for only trackdays i have gone back to the smaller tank as i alwys found it easier to lock into for cornering. I tried the larger tank for 2 years (with Stompgrip on it) but could never find a good position for my legs.
I prefer the shape of the 06 but changed mine for the 07 due to being bigger. So a larger 06 shaped one would do me

Oh and wasn't the 06 carbon one different?
I had an 06 tank and upgraded to 07, did not notice any issues with grip but I have long legs

Much prefered look of 07> tank
I prefer the angular looks of the 07 over the 05 as well. Larger capacity is an extra but nothing more than that imo.
Haven't ridden an 05 yet so can't say anything about the shape but from the pictures I suspect the 07 to be more suited to how I position my upper leg.
I prefer the '05 tank and will try to pick one up or trade my '08 for one. Distance riding is no longer in the cards. I'm looking for more "nut" room and a slimmer, smaller tank. No time for big projects like making an aluminium tank.
Carbon
06,I voted for all of the above, well mine is an 05 so its the same, biggest thing for me is that with a smaller tank there is less weight up high which affects the handling,
with a bigger tank there is too much difference in how the bike behaves with a full tank and when the fuel level gets down below half,
not just me, have at look how many IIOM TT riders have crashed after a pitstop with a full tank

I do agree the 07> tank looks a little better though
Really hate the way the tank flares out at the top. It digs into my legs when I stand on the pegs.
