Which Superduke to buy ?

Hi just joined.
A little bit about myself,I moved across from 25yrs of the sportsbikes and last year traded my 08 ZX10R in against a new Aprilia Dorsoduro Factory.I love this bike and everything about it,its just not got enough grunt and power so ive decided to take the plunge and buy the real thing.
What i would like your advice on is which to get.Im looking at the 2008 onwards model and really like the Superduke R in black.I will be using the bike mainly on the road but will do the odd trackday.I used to race bikes years ago and still have a couple of Aprilia RS 250s and RGV 250.I know the R is on the stiff side but to be honest ive not ridden one yet. Also regarding the non R model ive noticed what seem to be some good deals on year old machines.Could you please give me your valued thoughts on which is best.I thought it best to listen to the people that know first rather than just go out and buy any.
Thanks in advance Mark
If you want my opinion I've owned an 06 SD, which was stolen, replaced with an 07SDR which was just so much fun. Had to sell it to get a bike with a pillion seat. Missed the SDR so much I've just bought another 07 model with full Akro Evo system and its so great to have the bike back. It's a bit hard on the road but when I did California Race School in the UK it was sublime. I think its a bit oversprung for my weight but with some advice from the forum it should be easy enough to sort.
I think the best solution is to go test one of each. That will be the only way to know for sure which one you would like.

With you coming from a sports bike background I would probably say go for a SDR, but if you aren't going to do that many track days (you said you would be doing a couple) and would prefer a less harsh ride, then the normal SD would suit you.

It was new from Fowlers, old model, unreg. It was a bargain. Picked up brand new exhaust from a KTM dealer at cost. Its black and stunning. Not sure the later white ones look quite as cool
Dont suppose you know if they have anymore
Anychance of some pics
They have a new white one in the showroom.Give em a call. They have always done great deals for me over 20 years of dealing with them. Ask for Rod.
