#4For winter riding I use Michelin Pilot Road 2's they grip well wet or dry and last surprisingly well too. Everyone I speak to has a good opinion of them. So for the winter I think they are the ones to go for.
I even used them as wets on a drying trackday in September on my fireblade. They were fine whilst the track was wet but moved around a lot once it dried. Mind you, I had tyre warmers on them so not exactly what they were designed for.
On the road they would not get hot enough for this to be an issue. Without warmers they get up to road riding temperatures quickly enough anyway.

#5winter tyres? Snow here is usually about three-four feet deep over the ice...what a charming concept..winter tyres...its why Canadians are usually pretty good bike mechanics....they have 6 months off to work on their bikes...

#6There's been a few tests of Sports Touring tyres in the mags recently.
I'm a fan of the Pirelli Diablo Strada (which came out top in one test) but you won't go far wrong with Avon Storm ST's, Dunlop Roadsmarts, Michelin Pilot Road 2's or Bridgestone BT021's

#9Diablo Strada mate. Much more cold grip than a Corsa (I've had both), loads and LOADS of miles (search my previous posts for that one, hehe) and I even did a track evening at Brands on em in Sept and they didnt let me down!
They are supposed to be good for rain, I have had the rear spinning a little in higher gears when I've given it a buncha right twist but they're still waaay better than a Corsa in the wet.
Bargain imho.
