who says you can't use all 15 ltrs in an 05/06??

Well I certainly did the other day. Stopped at a filling station on my way to a blast out, had full leathers on and pulled up at pump right in front of the window with a proper jobsworth behind. He refused to switch on pump till i removed my helmet which gave me the hump So in a great example of cutting off ones nose to spite ones face I rode off. Anyway I was already on 15 miles of the fuel light being on but was sure I could make it to the station just before the twisties start. Damn I came bloody close. Bike dies 300yds from the station Road is on a slight incline so no free wheeling the rest of the way and guess who's pushing his bike the last 250yds I had 20.9 miles on the fuel light which I now know is the max. Started filling her up and I really must have dragged every drop out of that tank as she happily took all 15 ltrs. The tank couldn't have taken another drop but it was also my first £20+ fill up When I bought the bike 2&1/2 years ago it cost £12 to fill up. I'm thinking a 1200 SD might not be such a great idea after all

And here I thought we were getting raped at the pump at $1.45 L AUD

Its good to know it actually takes 15L, I think i'm pushing the limits reaching 30Ks on reserve light and I rarely see more than 12L per fill.

Yeah this is my 3rd time running dry as well. You'd think I'd have learnt my lesson... well you'd be wrong

Most I've tanked was about 14 liters.. and I was sweating the last 10km because I didnt think I could make it

Next time they ask to take your helmet of, do so. Then once they activate the pump when you have pulled the nozzle out put your helmet on and go pay, far more satisfying.

Then have an argument along the lines of the burka issue when they argue

Pissed me off at the petrol station the other day had 3 20l jery cans and tried to fill them up, would not let me do it?! knobs, went elsewhere after I walked in and chelped off at the fat bird behing the counter (was not so clever with out a tannoy ).

on an 05? jeez... I'm not exactly what you'd call a hooligan either!

Went to BMF Peterborough, and back home, on a full tank. About 11 miles from home the fuel light came on. Got home. Went to put it in garage, would not start. Had to hold it upright and down hill to get it to fire up. Down street to Sainsburys, only just got there. Spluttering all the way. Reserve fuel on a SD is an emergency fuel indicator.

I got 130 miles from a tank in Spain 06.
Cruising at steady 80 - 90 mph.
Took 14.5 L when I got to a pump.

Good God Man, that is $8.45 USD per gallon. We pay about $3.80 USD per gallon. Heartbreaking. But, good for me, I guess I can whine a little less about what we pay for gas. Poor Bastards, plus it rains and most of you probably live more than 7.1 miles from the nearest race track. Life is hard.

I once put 15.3 litres in my old 06. I didnt understand it either.....i even asked the garage staff when their pump was last calibrated...
