Why remove sas

Can some tell me what is the point in removing the sas system?
I understand it is only there for eu emissions but what is the point in removing it?
does it affect the performance?

It's there to put oxygen into the cat so that it gets very hot and cleans the emissions.

When you put after market pipes on with no cat, you don't need it.

So you can just remove it or stick ball bearings in the tubes, it just looks neater with less hoses.

It also stops the backfiring in the exhaust when removed. I'm all for noise but I didn't like the popping of this.
If you don't want to make any other modifications it helps to reduce the throttle surge a little bit when removed. Doesn't solve it but helps a bit.

This foram is the nuts, ive had loads of help since joining the superduke brigade last month! I cant wait to get the new bike sorted and the weather to get better, so i can wring its neck

plus if yu're into power to weight ( like me loosing more body weight too ) you'll save a couple pounds taking that crapeola stuff off the bike . then ya take the evap can off ( more weight savings ) then ya take the cat off ( more weight lost ) then the motohooligan box ( more weight savings ) secondary throttle shafts and hardware ( more savings ) Anti-Gravity battery 6 lbs savings - by the time all is said and done lost weight is as good as added Horsepower ... Now if i can only loose 10 more pounds
