#2Used have a 900 Hornet; great bike, heavy, handled OK, not top end rush; also an RC51. Great power, great soul, handled great, killed me to ride it longer than 30 minutes. Always wished I could put the two into some wierd transmogrification device to get the riding position of the 919 with the power, soul, and handling of the RC51.

#4I loved my 916, 4 years and 40K miles later I still loved it but moved on. I wished I'd kept it.
I have to admit, the superduke is the only bike I've loved the same.
When I had my 05 SD, a friend who owns a bike shop asked me what I would replace the SD. I said I was happy and at that stage had no plans to change bike. He went on to say, if it was written off and I had no choice, what would I get.
I said I get another identical bike, which was exactly what I did when it was stolen.
I have never owned identical bikes back to back, I think that says a lot about my SD love!

#15I have to agree, there's no such thing as the 'perfect bike'
Only a perfect bike for a particular ride/day.
The Tuono is perfect
So was the XT660
So was the 950SMR and the Superduke... but all had their faults and their reasons for selling.
They all do certain roads/terrain better than the others and all ride differently in many ways.
Out of all of them, i'm likley to go back to a Superduke more than any of the others. Although finances mean that i have no concept of when this could or indeed would actually be. Superdukes are quite expensive machines for what they are and the miles/age they are.

#21Went out for a quick ride on the weekend and meet some nice South African people at Mt Mee.
They are hardcore bike fans and wanted to know about my bike and when we got talking I realised the guy wanted to get something like the KTM 690 enduro, much like I myself have considered.
He said to me "so why not trade it in on the enduro?" and I told him - "I know I should cos I would have my license for longer, it would be cheaper to run and I could also play in the dirt - but I just can't sell this bike. Its just too much fun even to commute on."
It has its quirks, but quite simply this is an awesome bike no matter how you look at it.
