Your Wisdom Please...

I've been thinking about getting a track bike and found a great deal on a Daytona 675. I enjoy the SD on track, and love it on the street, but the on/off throttle makes cracking open the throttle in low speed corners more stressful than it needs to be.

So, I've got a dilemma: get something with smoother fueling, or put a MH box and clip-ons on the SD. (Or, maybe quit being a pussy and learn how to ride with it.)

Please share your wisdom with me, and especially if you know whether the MH box tames the on/off throttle.
Do you have any other mods on the bike? I know when I put FMF pipes and had the acra map installed on my old SD it smoothed the throttle out a lot. Although it wasn't that bad to me to begin with. When I got my SDR it already had the Moto box installed and the throttle seems pretty smooth but it also has lots of other stuff done to it. Throttle cam, tune ecu, 41 tooth sprocket.
On another note the 675 would be fun at the track. you could do a bunch of stuff without worrying about it being street legal.
I've got Akras and a PCIII (with a borrowed map). It's smooth enough once on the gas, but opening the throttle from closed is puckering when leaned over no matter how slowly/little I crack it open. If the box somehow makes cracking the throttle open better I'd seriously consider that and tune ecu. I think it's more than just lash from the drive line.

I've got a throttle cam but haven't put it on yet (although what I really want is a short turn cam - schizophrenic, I know).

Thanks for the thoughts.
Get the Box!

Get the 675! It was born for the track. And if you pitch it, you still get to ride on the street.
Both
Crap, this isn't helping!
my previous SD must have been the smoothest one ever built. my SDR has everything you could possibly do to it to smooth it out but it isn't any better than my SD was with just pipes and the ktm akra map. one thing i did learn to do with the SD was roll through the corners with the throttle just slightly cracked open. with my old cbr i usually rolled through off throttle.
I rode my superduke a lot on track last year (20 trackdays) and loved it.

The 675 was the only bike in the Girlie little clip-ons and homo-sexual fairings category that I liked and I even considered getting one mid season. However I saw sense and realised how much more fun it is passing people on "half a bike" (my SD)
Have you tried the 675?
I'm only asking because I tried the Street Triple R (Daytona engine) before getting the SD. As everybody was talking it up, I thought I would love it and had the deposit ready before riding it. I really hated it. My previous bike was a single cylinder, and I really couldn't get on with the revvy little bike. I'm sure it's a fantastic bike, and people obviously love it, but if you're really tuned into the grunt of a V-twin, you many not get on with the little triple at all.
Just a thought ...

Get the Box, Tuneecu turn off all the crap and balance throttle bodies. Also I have actually sped my throttle up and have no probs getting on the gas through the bends.
