'07 instrument cluster - construction?

Thinking about getting hold of a spare rev counter/speedo instrument cluster so I can take it apart and re-design a larger outer casing to incorporate the small rear view screen I've got and the gear indicator. There's a few on EBay at the moment I'm watching.

My question is does anyone have any experience of taking these apart? Not sure if they are completely sealed units or not, seem to remember a few forum members having condensation problems and getting replacement units. I can either design an outer case that simply is a cladding over the existing sealed unit or I can dispense with the casing and build a new one round the internals. But only if the unit comes apart.

Any experience out there?

I took mine apart a year or so ago because the plastic lens had cracked. As I remember it's simply a case of undoing a few screws and it comes to bits. Don't quote me though! I would have thought installing it in a new case would be possible.
