Took a spill last week. 2008 990 SD. Damage mostly minor except it appears the tabs holding shift linkage have been bent in toward swingarm vs linkage being parallel to same. #2NAh, as they're cast, straightening them at the very least will fatigue them.
Personally i'd take it off, replace with another used one that's straight. It's likely your frame/mounts are fine, just the footrest assembly that's bent.

#3I did that on my Super Duke, but bent the rear brake pedal. I was told not to try to straighten it as it would probably break, so I replaced it.
