De snorklelization, De restrication, and Canisterectomy.

It was a very simple thing to do.
The Snorkle comes right out after removing the airbox cover, and front snorkle mount. If you want to take it a step further, remove the triangles on both sides of the lower airbox. This should let the bike inhale easier, and give it a cool growl.

I still have to do the 15 minute idle reset in the morning.

The canisterectomy was also simple to do.

FYI:
When I lifted the tank I noticed some gas that had leaked out from the fuel pump seal. It just ended up being that the screws needed tightening on it.

i believe one of the members did many hours of tests on dyno and determined that removing snorkle causes loss of power in midrange... it was a while ago, so i don't remember who it was exactly, but the post is floating around somewhere...

problem with snorkle removal is that you fook up the resonance, so now you still have the restriction of the relatively small stock airbox, and the box no longer acts as helmholtz rezonator... Same goes to the "sommerdoor" mod, though removing the sides of the box partially compensates for the losses in resonance with larger ammount of air available, but it also sucks in warm air from engine area...

there has been a lot of testing done with various airbox mods, most cause more losses than gains.
In my opinion, stick with stock, or go with Motohooligans airbox... if you have more money then you know what to do with, you can also go with 2RT box....

have a BMC filter with ti akra's and map.along with 02 elim kit. So the added air flow i am getting seems to help. The acceleration now is much stronger too.

Do you benefit anything from the o2 eliminators with the Akra map?
