different tanks?

Can anybody help me I boght a carbon tank off ebay to get the extra capacity! But on taking off my 05 tank there is only a hole for the fuel pump and small drain plug!
On the carbon tank there is another hole on the underside half way up with 2 screw holes either side.
Im thinking seperate level sensor or something but on the original 05 tank its all 1
Can i use this tank and if so what do i need to plug this hole?
Can anybody throw any light on this?

Its for the seperate fuel level sensor on 07 bikes onwards. I dont have access to parts manuals at the moment so cant give you a part number but if you download the parts manuels for later bikes youl find the part i mean!

Seems strange though as the carbon tanks were made for the earlier bikes which as you say has the pump and fule level all in 1 peice.

Before installing your carbon tank do a leak test, unfortunatly they are prone to leaking around the joints and actually set fire to a members bike from this forum.

Cheers Bash got a second hand sensor to plug the hole! tank now fitted!
so far so good. It was weeping fuel once filled from the holes were the side panels screw into?????? but i just tightened the screws holding the panels on & this stopped!
Keeping my eye on this thought it was strange!

Ive got a bigger tank for sale and not too far away if your interested. See classifieds section.

Can u fit the bigger tank off the face lifted bike ie: 2008 on to the older bikes..?? the only reason I ask is I can't quite afford the newer bike at the moment so thought that if the newer bikes tank would fit the older then might be worth a look....

It's ok I found the thread......I'm a happy bunny now I'll be looking for a SD over the winter months as soon as I sell my ZRX.......
