right.. I've got the Zumo 590 for a month or so and have been using the standard RAM mount supplied with it, but don't like it sticking out above the handlebar of my SDR 990.
I owned a Zumo550 before on my previous SDR, it was mounted in the middle of the handlebar on top of the handlebarclamps, which looked nice, but that mount was scrapped with the bike.
I did some searching through the forum to see if anyone has a similar setup but couldn't find any.. would appreciate some pics to give some ideas on how to do it..
