Stock peg removal

Ok, So I just ordered the Motohooligan knurled pegs for my 1290.

Problem is, I'm having a tough time removing the stockers.

Is it uncommon to feel the need to have to knock the pin out with a mallet or something?

That thing won't budge.

Any help would be appreciated.
