Trickle charge without mains power

Hoping to get a new 1290 this week but will not be using it through the British winter

it will be housed in a garage without mains power and my normal trickle charge winter solution is obviously flawed

Any solutions or alternative options ?

or if theres a window put a small solar panel charger up cheep and easy

I guess what everyone is inadvertently arguing about here is whether or not the solar-power trickle chargers work in overcast conditions. And the answer is, yes, yes they do.

Why is everyone so gloomy.. I like the take indoors routine as you'll need to buy nothing.

Comrades: What's wrong with taking the fooking bike inside then you don't have to take the battery out!!! If the missus complains get rid of her
