Well the parts are trickling in.
Some prep pictures.
I have sprayed in a professional booth before, but this will be a real backyard
adventure, with 2K cans of primer and topcoat.

Wish me luck.

2007 Lower profile pump has arrived.
Quick connect coupler is broken, will reuse '06 one.

just waiting on 3M fine line tape and fuel sensor (used) and then the fun begins.

Have:
Tank (2007 used black)
Inner shields (New)
Pump (2007 Used)
zip ties (KTM M6 plug type for sensor harness)
All hardware (2006 tank)
Fairings (Ti 2006 will be modified to fit )
Ti 2K aerosol Paint (GM WA529F Dark Bronze Metallic )
2K aerosol Primer
Paint prep and supplies.

Need:
3mm 3M fine line tape (Mask off original black center section and tank pad)
2007 Fuel sensor (used) orientation is 90 Deg from 2006 type.
Place to paint. I have no garage as I rent an apartment in downtown Paris.

Fun and games to ensue.
I will probably paint it in the parking Garage at work, lighting is terrible but it is inside and should keep stuff out of the paint.

Good luck!
Is there going to be some orange?
Should be interesting - keep us posted with pictures

Fine line taped.
Can anyone say primer?

Painting aside - I wouldn't screw around with the piece-of-shit OE "Quick connect coupler". They all will eventually break.
It is going to be cooler and less humidity on Friday, I think I will finally paint.

Hope it goes well.

I want to see this too...
The paint supplier did not send any tech data sheets with the order.
I am waiting for the info, I have sent several emails.

I need to know flash time, window time, final flash time and sand time.

I am hoping the fuels here in Europe have less or no ethanol and that the tank hasn"t swelled.
Dremel tool on standby just in case.

DONE!

No big issues.
No tank swelling, bolted right up.

Made some brackets to get good inner outer fairing alignment since the outer fairings were the old type.
Will post pics later.
Got done at 11PM last night and it was still raining.
