Had a really good day at Brands today, would have loved to have had the superdan cam on board again, would have been nice to have had a follow up vid of me caning all the inters this time too
Got black flagged one lap before the end of the last session before lunch for "Pulling a Schnauzer" as I think it's now known, formally known as the Northern overtake. Overtook a few people round the outside of druids and apparently I came too close to somebodys line, I didn't even realise I had done it as I'd never intentionally do so, obviously a misjudgement on my part.
The instructor was pretty alright about it and once he'd given me my "official" bollocking as he put it he told me I should move up to the fast group Real Men Ride Naked Twins baby!
I then got him to follow me round in the 2nd session after lunch and he said I rode really well and had nothing bad to point out just keep doing what I'm doing but get some better tyres for track if I want to go faster, apparently I was leaving black lines on the track when he was following me round paddock hill and had him worried round clearways cause of the lean angle but I knew they'd be alright, mainly cause I'd already got the back end sliding there earlier in the day so I'd already worked out how much power I could safely wind on and when.
I even overtook about 5 people in the fast group too so I was well happy overall but spare wheels and track scrubs for me next year I reckon, although that means I'll only be able to go to track days when I can get my paddock stands into somebodys van or I have to get a cheap van or car/trailer once I've sold my scooby but I don;t know if I can be arsed to deal with the maintenance on an old banger as wouldn't want to spend a lot of money on a vehicle as it would defeat the object of selling the other one in the first place.
