Me too Will be my first of the year as well. If the track slag that is Schnauzer isn't up for it there is def room TJ. I have removed some stuff from the van and there is the possibility of getting 3 SDs in now. 2 facing forward on the outsides and one backwards in the middle. Not 100% sure of this however. If Jules is in I'll pop to his and load both bikes and look at how much room is left.

I have room for any guys who want to stay just not the beds, its a nice area cul-de-sac im sure your bikes would be fine left in the street in the van but there hopefully will be room in garage/garden for a few bikes.

But 7.2 miles away you cant complain

do they check noise levels at cadwell. if so what is the limit. and how do you pass it with the noise that the sd,s make

can anyone tell me at what distance they check noise level away from rear of exhaust and at what rpm

Its 5k rpm and supposed to 0.5m but they always seem to stand right behind you at Cadwell!

Wen i was there last week my freshly packed Akros (without baffles) still wouldnt read lower than 106/107db, they did howeva give me my sticker and said if i get black flagged its jus bad luck (i didnt get flagged anyway) and mine certainly wasnt the loudest bike there anyway!

We had 10 minutes of Rain on the kent ride out just as we got back to maidstone but I wasn't half paranoid about the supercorsas on the RC8, I was wobbling round corners petrified. Of course it didn;t help that I also saw when I got it out in the morning that the back tyre probably was debateably even legal so not much tread down the centre either.

So that's another thing on the list this week.

My SD with round Akras and baffles removed was tested as being 100db so well within the 105db limit.

Pullin' yer leg about the thread title mate.

If inters is full I'll be happy, if near the rear of fast.

Last year in inters there I found it very frustrating - getting stuck behind a small group of riders going well below my pace - but because I'm not familar with the pace and in turn lacking my usual confidence not able to get past them effeciently.

That said Brands GP has places next Monday, and it means about 6 hours less travel and the same price when everything taken into account.

It all means nothing till I know I'll be in the UK though!

Doh, is this after your have fitted the slipper clutch?

I first fitted the slipper several months ago, I didn't have the correct tool to hold the basket when I tightened everything up but I managed to get by with a couple of tyre levers and my foot on the brake. It ran perfectly for a couple of months but I was concerned about my bodge. So I bought the right tool, and took it all apart to tighten it properly. Somehow during this process I managed to ruin the clutch slave cylinder. A used but working one was purchased and fitted. That's when the clutch started slipping and the bike was very difficult to push when in gear with the clutch lever pulled in. Several strips and refits later I was no closer to finding out what I'd done wrong. Long story short, last week I gave up and took the bike to a bikeshop and explained exactly what had gone on. Yesterday I picked it up and in fairness to the mechanic he did say that the clutch plates had become glazed and that he'd roughed them up best he could but that was one of the problems with using fully synthetic oil. He said I'd have to try it and if it still slipped I'd need new plates. It seemed OK at first but quickly deteriorated.

On another note, all this talk of racetech tyres has got me thinking. I have Mich pilot powers on my SD and have a spare set of wheels with Mich pilot races (that are nearly worn out) should I be off buying slicks? I was planning on using the pilot powers in the morning to learn the track and to finish of the pilot race's in the afternoon !

On the tyres front, I use Racetec scrubs that I buy off eBay for about £80 a pair. They tend to have done about 12-16 laps and have loads of wear left in them. The set I'll be using on Sunday & Monday still have a good 7mm in the middle, although are a little destroyed on the right side after the 2 days use I got out of them in Cartagena. Will be fine for first track day of the season at Cadders though. Dan buys new sets I think and uses them on the road as well.

Nice one DP no doubt we will swap groups at some point given that, will spread the love with the GOPRO and stick it on yer bike as your in different group anyway (for how long who knows ).

Have to say it was a fab weekend. Although Dan tried to kill me by sending me out on the death bike Super Duke at least the brakes waited till i was though the first few corners and on to a straight before seizing on Felt a bit of a tit dragging the bike sideways to the side of the road from the 4 feet out that it had suddenly ground to halt at. Car drivers queuing behind me were giving me some strange looks indeed. At least I didn't bin his pride and joy though, then I really would have felt a tit

Have to say the roads around Cadwell are awesome!!! I know we didn't get a long ride and apparently the best was yet to come but trust me, from a Londoner they were heaven! Good to see Ginge pulling 100 yard wheelies down the road like he does over the mountain Pity we didn't get to see you performing those with the mandatory black flags at Cadders m8. Will def have to come back up for a blast again this summer guys as it does look like there is some amazing road riding to be had.

Dan was def host with the most. 30+ bottles of beer in the fridge, bags of munchies and then a fab curry with MotoGP, does it get any better? (have to say though the BBC coverage is shite compared to Eurosport ) Managed to win a game of spoof with Jamie for the bed so the poor fecker ended up with the sofa, sorry m8 Didn't sleep that well anyway as kept waking up hoping it was time to get up and get on track

As Dan said I'm glad I bought the new rear Racetec instead of using his old one. Mine was ruined on the right from Cartagena but it would have been a false economy to use an old one then bin it. The grip levels from Racetecs is truly next level

We head out for 1st session in Inters. Bit rusty but feeling ok and Cadwell always feels fantastic to ride around. There really is something very, very special about this track. First time I've been there and its been completely dry from the off, which is a massive bonus.

2nd session I have the new rear on and take it easy for a lap but then open her up and damn it feels good Start finding the line again. Remember what Ginge told me about Coppice, "full throttle down the straight, don't break, just drop it down a gear and tip her in" Works a treat, cheers Ginge Feeling like it's the fastest I've ever been on track (not top end wise) and at the end of the session when Stew and Dan get moved up, Jamie, Jody and I join them in the fast group. Time to man up

We head out for first session in the fast group. I stick with Dan for about 3 laps and then he fooks off I keep him in sight for a bit but by the end of the session he is a good 1/3rd of a lap in front. He is def throwing down the marker for us all to step up too. I spotted some orange and black leathers over the barrier near the Goose Neck and at first thought they were Pete's but it turns out to be Jody that wanted to test the Super Dukes off road ability (I'll be joining him on that one in a bit) He is ok though and thr damage is very fixable. I always carry spares and he's back and ready for next session.

We get one more session in before lunch and although a few big IL4s are screaming past me on the straights I think I am more than holding my own through the corners and am overtaking a few people as well. All is going well, I'd started out in front of everyone and 14 mins into session I'm amazingly still out there. Come tearing down the pit straight and there is a bit of traffic but all seems to be moving quickly. Then as i get to Coppice it isn't moving as quickly as I hoped. I'm left with no choice but to go off-roading, Super Duke may not be as good off road as my EXC but she stays upright and I rejoin the track halfway round Charlie's one. Take a lap to make sure there isn't grass all over my tyres and then a lap later its all over and the chequered flag is out. Jamie get past me on the chequered flag lap at the end of Park Straight but i'm sticking with my story that I was on a warm down lap Right leg is suffering though through not being fit enough and so are my knees though being fooked and basically shot to shit Wish I'd got into this 20 years ago!

Stew is calling it a day riding wise which is a shame. Poor bike isn't happy and so neither is he. Hope it's an easy fix dude.

First session after lunch feels crap, not on it at all. Feeling lethargic and mind isn't in the zone at all. Didn't have a massive lunch but something isn't right and def not happy with performance. 2nd session is much better and feeling like the pace is back. Last session we head out. Jamie then myself, with Dan and Pete behind. Dan is past me and Jamie on lap 2 and then Pete sneaks past me too. I've got Jamie's GoProHD on board so I'm going to try and stick with Pete and get some good footage. Much to my surprise and joy I stay on Pete's rear for the whole session Shame that we find the camera ran out of memory 3 laps into the session. Oh well next time I guess.

All in all a fantastic day. Great to see Dan, Stew and Pete again. Also me meet Jody and his lovely lady plus Scots Duke for the first time. Jamie for talking my ears off there and back Good to have your company m8 Ginge you were missed.

Can't wait for the 2 day SD.net Cadwell Extravaganza, although I might have to squeeze one more in between now and then

So I take it easy for half a lap to make sure no dirt on tyres and some pocket rocket does me on the straight, he then proceeds to piss me off for the next 2-3 laps with his random lines and fast-in-a-straight-line-but-not-in-the-corners-style. Thats Craig ahead of him-damn you lose a lot of quality on Youtube wish I was racing properly would have loved to stuff it up the inside

at 5:13(ish) you see another guy trying to overtake him and he pulls an endo, you dont see him pulling a wanker sign but I did

Eventually I get stuck behind someone else and Craig and annoying guy are gone, I catch them up again but that was just before Craig then went grass tracking.

Funnily enough I quite enjoyed it until I went mowing that is. He was the most annoying guys there though and was a pin in the arse if you got stuck behind him. On anything other than a litre IL4 he would have been mince meat to the SD brigade
