Wow what a day
Weather forecast looked a washout, left home in the rain at 0730 and arrived at Cadders for about 0820hrs it was raining all the way and track was soggy and overcast, got noise tested at 103db Tony's SD with Yoshis was a paultry 99db with out baffles .
Never bothered with the sighting laps at the start it was wet and I did not think I would even go out to be fair, then it stopped raining....... but I did not hold my hopes up too much, fitted the Supercorsa scrubs as I wanted them on anyway, then the whole place just started to dry up.
Managed to get out in the last half of the 2nd session as most of the track was dry and a good dry line through the woodland, however was on cold tyres after quickly putting them back on, I was in too much a rush trying to get out for the session and adjusting the clutch lever while going round and the whole bike felt a little squirrely, and felt like the clutch was dragging, also there was a massive scraping noise on Charlies on the back straight, so thought I had best come in to investigate, and also check all the bike for leaks since fitting new rad and hose clips.
Belly pan was scraped to hell, had to make my own bracket and push the sides out a little to fit the OEM silencer and it was a just a little too much, ripped the bolt out and made a mess of paintwork so just took the bellypan off.
Its at that point I realised I had not done up the nut for the rear axle, and said nut was somewhere on track, I was lucky I came in why I did, that must have been the weird squirrely feeling and clutch drag Thankfully I did not lose an adjuster block.
So now I thought my day was over and wandered round in the vein attempt someone may have said nut, eventually I borrowed one, phew.
I then decided I had best get my suspension set up and visited Parkitt Racing, few adjustments here and there and I am good to go, hit the next session on cold tyres again but was getting to grips with the bike. Gear changes are slick, tyres were epic all day, and slowly managed to get to grips with the bike and a track I had not been on for ages.
After lunch it started to drizzle but not enough to cause any concern, still gave it the beans, well my version of giving it the beans anyway.
I left a Tuono V2 Factory on a couple of occasions for dead on the straight and through the twisties he was holding me up, and there was an SDR that got mullered on the back straight by the V4 too (and no it was not Tony).
Bike goes, stops, handles really like it, just need an exhaust really, I dont think I desperately need new suspension but I fancy treating myself, did not think it was an overly intimidating bike even with out traction control (I don't have it), but then im not on the edge.
Still need to work on Coppice and Chris Curve to the Gooseneck and must remember to use all the track before I can go Stalker Bashing and put some good lap times in.
Will try and post some vid up before I move house as wont have any broadband for a bit, could not be arsed to buy any photos, but he had a good one from sitting 10m up in the trees at Barn.
"The Enemy"
Tyre had a bit of tear but suspension guy thinks its just the newer compound 200 section wears heavily but sticks like shit.
