Ah bummer Stew.

Tony is coming down on his Factory, he binned it last time I was there at Park, he was following me and blames me for braking to early, but he locked his back brake up big time and dropped it on the grass

Got some new springs in the front so will see how they go.

Which avatar? Im on the superduke forum so I have my SD avatar

It was a shame, it looked bloody great in those graphics - still in my top 2 ever best looking superdukes.

It didn't look like a tarts handbag either.

Not sure if my mate on his Factory is doing this as he's a bit skint, (he suggested it too so thats why I booked )

Just planning on lots of laps and practice my overtakes without crashes
Superdan

Superdan

Well woke up at about 5am today and could not for the hell of it get back to sleep, dont know why I was not really that exited as no one I knew was there, but got to the track at 7am and park up in usual spot, there was about 10 Polish bikers next to me who were camping over and it felt like I was a work.

Saw a Kawaski and a triumph BSS race team setting up so there was going to be some quick riders out there, did the first session and got Colin to alter the front end (new springs) making an improvement in the feel of the front end however still dont like the riding position or the flickablity, just cant get comfy, find the seat too flat, going to jack up the Ohlins rear I think and maybe drop another ring at the front through the yokes.

Back brake still wont work, tried every method from every internet search and every professional Aprillia mechanics methods and Aprilia bulitins, nothing makes this POS brake work unless you fit aftermarket rearsets which changes the placement of the MC (id be tempted if I was keeping it).

Was getting my Mojo on and was overtaking alot of bikes and getting spanked by the BSS boys (1:35 laps ) takes a lot to shit me up on track, but was just about to tip into the right left for Hall Bends by the clubhouse when one of the Kawa's goes on the inside of me, had a little wobble as it shat me up but carried on. Tw@t.

Had a monster slide from the rear on Charlies 1 promptly came in to change my underpants and spoke to the tyre guy. Been running K3 Ractecs front and rear he told me to drop the rear from 31 to 28 hot, never had a problem after that, was sunny all day.

Lots of crashes from the Polish boys, they were having their own crashfest......and tried tyre warmers for first time today. Awesome!

Went out a bit after lunch but had done over 100miles and 2 hours on track by 2pm and I was fooked, got a false nuetral and a nuetral upchanging from 3-4th almost grass tracking so called it a day, wanted to be in one piece for the crashfest!!.

The dash showed my top speed of the day as 141mph and I never got out of 4th so im going to try a 44 or 45t rear next time, its on 15-42 ATM.

My mate was timing me and said my fasted lap was a 1:52 which I found a bit dissapointing

So how was the overall pace of the OPL anyway?

And how many people do they have at the OPL days?
Superdan

Superdan

Apart from the very fast BSS boys and instructers, it felt like an intermediate Trackday, I never took longer than a lap to overtake anyone that was in my way, I overtook lots more than I got overtaken, was not that busy either really, good day just more fun when there is someone you know to blat round with

Missed alot of apexs, and you really have to fight the T round where the SD flowed much better.

interesting write up SDan. Sometimes it's good not to have mates around to distract you when working on certain things, I reckon this practice will help you no end mate.

and a lap time of 1:34 is fuggen amazing!! They musta been FLYING!

I'd be chuffed with under 2 mins at my level......I will be going for that (unofficially) in August.
