Casey Stoner takes MotoGP world title - Jorge no challenge

Congrats to Casey. No doubt about it, he's been the man to beat all season. Great stuff. Disappointing that Lorenzo didn't man-up and put up a challenge at Philip Island. His finger injury must have been far worse than you'd think possible. This is a defending world champion (!) and you'd have expected a bit of grit and determination in the closing races from him. Imagine Doohan, Sheene, Rainey, etc. pulling out at such a crucial stage in the title challenge for a finger injury.... Those legends would have taped themselves up and got on with the job. This also means that Lorenzo will miss the post Sepang practice on next year's bike.

Yes congatulations Casey Stoner. He has been a pleasure to watch on track all year and there was never a doubt in my mind that he was headed to the top of the heap. As far as Yorga goes, I believe the finger was severed and the corner workers found it and the had to sew it back on. I would not assume the Yorga does not have the intestinal fortitude it takes to be a champion again, but he will have to wait till Stoner retires. If things go the way I predict, Stoner is on his way to the next six championship titles in a row.
I can find ways to cheer Stoner. One being we get to see more of his beautiful wife, and two he makes the grid look like tgey are just collecting the pay check and ride to live instead of live to ride.

Well done Casey, the only time he didn't score big points was Jerez when some numpty knocked him off.

Stoner has been immense this year but credit has to go to Lorenzo for riding the wheels off the Yamaha. I still live in hope of all the aliens battling it out all race long; maybe next year. Personally I think Marquez is the real thing so he could be another alien in the waiting but, sadly, (hope I'm wrong) but I don't see Rossi and the Ducati being competitive next year - they'd be getting close by now if they had any chance for next year doncha think?

Made the 2000 k round trip down to Phillip Island on the SD to witness Casey in action, was well worth the rain , cold and sore arse
Was a shame to have Jorge and Spies out for the main event.

Yep, congats to Casey. He's in a class of his own atm. Will try to make PI next year to watch Stoner go around the southern loop on that 1000cc. Sideways.

What they aren't showing is Jorge's injury wasn't that bad until she bit the end of his finger off.
