And it's time to start looking forward to Crashfest! No dates out from No Limits for July but as soon as they are sent to Stalker and myself I'll post up the options. Always a brilliant laugh and hopefully we'll have another good crowd coming to torment all those sportsbike riders.

…..count me in!!
I'm in.

Depending on the usual factors.

Family commitments
Money commitments
Dates commitments

Bike status

Look, this year I will really try to come. But fook, there are a load of forces that move against me.

Maybe I will bring the H2. Has anyone taken a 1970's Kawasaki triple on a track day?

Maybe that would be more fun?
Bring it and let Spike Edwards ride it and he'll probably whip everyone's arse with it.

Tell you what. I've started a new job this month. For the first time in 25 years I do not own the company I work at. I have a boss??? WTF!

I need to do something called....."book a holiday" in the company diary. I don't know what the fook this is but it means that I need to plan ahead and tell them when I want to go to Crashfest. I can't just say, "Oh, guys, I'm not here for the next few days - Bye".

I need some dates pretty soon I think.

I'm already booked in for a track day at Cadwell on Monday 13th July, so I really hope the dates work for me.

I've sold my '14 Daytona 675R which was a track bike primarily and my '13 SDR 990 for the 1290 (which I will get in March) so I'm really hoping the 1290 will turn out to be a good mix of the two - oh and it's getting harder to wrap an old body around a supersport bike too.......
I'll be there

Was just curious as neither NL or MSV had it listed as a day. Does seem these owner days are getting quite popular.
It's more of an old school track day where you ride to and from the circuit - remember them??

I'll be leaving my tyre warmers and paddock stands at home this time..
Headed over to the forum to see if this thread is up and running yet-it is......

Just had dates through for July. They have a 3 dayer again 6.7.8th July guys.

Weekend or a Sunday / Monday suits me better. Would struggle with three week days and Tuesdays are tricky......
8th and 9th is no limits race at Cadwell so bear that in mind with dates.
This thread reads like someone started a fire in a retirement home, brings out all the SD.net old folks.

who's gonna bring a 1290 along and show us 990 boys the way round
If it's late August I might be able to make it (15+ hours drive each way) If I make it I could potentially pick up motoronin on the way up

If I do make it, i'll be shit slow having not ridden the bike in 2 years + !!
lol not making excuses already Jody Deposed King vs reigning King and who knows there may be other challenges to the throne.
Is deposed a posh way of saying stepped aside coz winning all the time gets dull? :p

Bit of childcare juggling required but I should be there for Sunday and Monday
as long as work (or anything else) doesn't get in the way i'll be in for all 3
I've sent an email to my summer employer literally begging for time off. See what happens

Still waiting for a reply

As mentioned earlier it will be a lot of time money and effort to attend but finances have actually increased over the past 12 months (as opposed to the decline of the previous 5 years) and I do bloomin' love Cadwel (and you 'orrible lot).

if any of you pussy american types wanna rock up i will loan or buy another just play
I'd honestly happily lend you my bike on the "if you fook it you fix it" condition. Although Bass would need to put its value in cash in my hand as a deposit before slinging his leg over it lol. The SDR will be long gone by then though I'm afraid. If any of you are serious though we might be able to get you a good rate on hiring ZX6 or GSXR 600. TBH the chances of finding a SD to hire are slim to fook all. Unless you can find a member willing to lend.

I know what you mean about it not being an SD but Cadwell is great for a 600.

I'm booked at last. Sunday and Monday. Be gentle. Not been on track for 18 months

I am still not certain what I'm doing about this.

Problem is I have done little track riding this year because of a pretty serious knee problem that is partly down to age but mostly from historical bike injuries. It means that I'm in pain a lot of the the time and I can't put any force through it so I cannot lift my ass off the seat or move about much on the bike, OK for road riding but not for track. Anyway, I'm finally booked into surgery next Monday to have a look around and hopefully fix the damage if it is repairable.

They say two weeks of rest after this op but after that I might be OK. Just don't know really.

My question is (presuming I can ride at all) can I come to Crashfest for the laugh and camping without doing the track day? If the knee seems to be OK I will book the Monday and go in the novice group to potter round but if I'm not up to doing that will Cadwell/No limits just let me ride on and camp up with the gang?

I could look after the beer and maybe do a bit of BBQing.

Anyone bringing a 1290 down? Im not riding but will come down and watch and have a few beers and bbq.
Reevus mate,

I'm going to ring No Limits tomorrow and book one or more days track time. I've just had a knee op this week so wasn't sure how it would be but it seems a miracle has happened and I can walk with no pain and yesterday I could use my knee riding to lift my arse up to shift positions which I haven't been able to do for six months.

I haven't been on a track for over a year and will be taking it very easy. Also I've never ridden Cadwell before so I will probably sign up for the novice group because I don't want to hold anyone up in a faster class or feel pressurised to ride fast when my knee might be a bit fragile. These days are run to be fun - not competitive - don't be put off by the banter on here with old time Crashfesters. Anyway, they all crash but the rest of us don't! Ha ha.

I've been a bit slack on this thread folks...

Originally ma990rky and now ma1290rky I am booked into Silverstone on August 17th for a track day also with No Limits and don't really fancy doing another one either side of that. I've never ridden Silverstone before and I was offered a subsidised place via work so knowing Cadwell reasonably well I'm opting out. I tried to ride Cadwell in April and it was blown off due to the very very strong winds.

Brands Hatch with MSV on August 24th also booked.

If I have a rush of blood and fell the Tuesday is in fact possible then I'll just rock up with the 1290 still on the trailer from Silverstone.

New Super Corsas on the way so if I do not see you there i wish you all a sunny and safe day..

Cheers

Mark

Well, it serves me right!

Just rung No Limits and the Monday daytime groups all booked up now.

I think I will still ride up Sunday afternoon and camp up for the few days just for the crack and meet up with everyone. To be honest it's probably best not to do track time because my knee op. will be less than a month into healing and any off would certainly not end up well for it. Perhaps this is just providence, nothing else seems to make me act sensibly - been up a ladder all yesterday plastering a ceiling.

I may still just sign up an the reserve list in case anyone doesn't show for the Monday daytime sessions.

I was able to book a flight, lodging, etc. Spendy - but available. My bride never refuses a trip over - an easy "sell". As Bic notes however, the No Limits folks are are booked through to Monday evening, and while Tuesday is tempting - difficult to justify for the one day.

Shadowman's exceptional generosity is only found on sd.net, and for that I'm grateful.

I would have liked to have met up with all of you, chase you around Caldwell, and knocked back a few in the evenings. I hope opportunity presents itself in future for me to join you in the annual (?) "Crash Fest". Until that time, even if not in contact with the tarmac, at least keep the black round things facing down.

Someone noted that there would be regrets from not signing up - and those, I certainly have.
Well, If the weather looks good then I will ride up and camp. Be good to get away from DIY for a few days and meet up.

What time do people plan to arrive on Sunday? It's a fair old ride for me to get there from home but I guess I will probably be there mid afternoon. What's the score with food and facilities there? Do you need to bring everything with you for a few days of is there somewhere local to get provisions. Last time I went to Cadwell I seem to remember riding for MILES before I got there with very little signs of civilisation.
Woody. Of the three cams that come with the fast action kit only the most aggressive one needs any Dremmel work. The other two just slip on. You probably know this but just in case you don't. I still have only the second fastest one fitted because never got around to the Dremmel - it's still much faster than OE.

Well. I'm all sorted. Bike sorted, stuff packed, just hope the weather changes as it's meant to, been pissing down for two days!

Hope I can get a ride, I will try and get on first dibs with No Limits if there are cancellations. Otherwise I will just chill out and get drunk for two days and watch you all crash! Ha ha.
i just hope you guys are all polite when passing me on my little 500cc commuter bike , i mean i only have around 50hp so please be gentle
Well,

The time has come. I hope you guys have fun this weekend.

Remember, no passing on the inside. Or is it the outside since you drive on the wrong side of the road? I'm confused!
I have a few burgers and sausages packed alongside the beer. Hope somebody is bringing a BBQ!

A few pictures of a very picturesque track. Didn't track because after the 200 mile ride up to Linconshire my knee didn't feel ready for that kind of exertion but had a good two days hanging out with everyone and drinking wine. Nice to meet a load of new people as well as the regular faces. Next year....

Great to see the SD crew again. Lydia and James couldn't have been more helpful, Geoff made a good neighbour and everybody else helped to make it a cracking weekend. Even the weather cooperated with mostly sunny and always dry.

It was good to have a chance to ride the SD having done less than 20 miles on it since getting it last year. It went well and we are bonded properly now.

Great effort by Bic to ride 200+ miles up with a still recovering knee just to mingle and soak up the atmosphere.

Looking forward to the next one already.

As an aside, I think the SD would go really well round Mallory Park. Is anybody reading interested in a day at Mallory with their SD? I will go anyway but SD company would be welcome

My Gopro battery broke down so I don't have any footage to post but I'm sure somebody will upload something to watch soon.

Hope the bike is soon fixed Geof

Loved it

Some footage from day two of the crashfest.... Mr Millar doing a bit of farming and then trying as hard as I might to evade the pesky Colonel Klinck - fast forward to 3.52 for beginning of the action as we got stuck in pit lane.... Must learn to edit! ....
When that rapid lad went past on the that new R1 it was time to try and chase him... although he was a tad too quick for me Damn I really really want that new R1!
Ah yes, I think I may have been missing my hoodie. I'll have a check but I don't think I've seen it since I returned. It was a bit worn out though and covered in white paint!

Went into Tri County at the weekend and saw a very poorly SD outside

Heard that it was accidentally taken on a high speed grass tracking outing at Crashfest

Glad the rider is ok, is he on the forum ??
if it was white then it was dubsnbikes, he came away without injury. the bike did well considering the way it flipped on the grass too.
They do crash well. Most bikes would be proper fooked after going end over end.
