dyno run at the fest

Right people . Can I have some idea of numbers for doing a run on the dyno at the fest. Speaking with parkitt about a deal and he would like a rough idea. Plan is to chuck each bike on in quick succession and just do one pull each. No tuning as that can be done another time.

I had a chat with Tony from Parkitt recently about it and he's well up for it. Plan was to do it on Monday evening with a few beers. Should be a giggle and an interesting database for mods against years and models.

Remember guys we should have a PC3 at the fest so if your A/F is miles out or you fancy a tune /tweak up that should be possible.

Right then. If we have ten or more it will be £10 a pull. He is going to speak to john about noise. So it might have to be done in the evening session. But he will do what he can. If you then want anything done it can be done on the open pit day.

My 07 SDR is obviously low fat version.
Highest torque figure might be the winner round Cadwell

How about doing a noise test as well? Obviously we'll all have to be tested anyway but is it worth recording these results for comparison?
Always seems to be tricky to find out otherwise?

Lowest was Ginge @104 highest was woody with 120 iirc. Results were all over place, bottom line pot luck what bhp you get, James 08 SD beat some old 05/06 bikes.

I got a cheeke 143bhp.

Interesting results these.

So pretty much all the bikes make the same power give or take a few bhp apart from the full fat SDR's.. I suspect the early bikes vs late bikes feel different with the way they make their power, but just shows overall there's nothing in it

The bit that jumped out at me is the gsxr750 power. . No wonder I can't hang with the bloody things on the straights!

Pretty interesting too just how far out dynos can be. There was Nick's (rip dude ) bike showing 140bhp on one dyno and every other sd making 28bhp less on another with the same spec motors and mods. !

Another interesting stat would be who has a custom map for their bike. Who is running someone else's map and who is running a Akra map.

Thing is, even at that there is still bugger all difference in 100% throttle runs to peak power.

Where the big difference will be is 30-80-% throttle at different revs, that's where the good mapping comes in. I bet there will be over 10bhp difference in places and maybe even the same in torque.

Overall it was a bit of a shock to see just how low the power is on the SD's in general.

I lost my print out, but what I was confused at was the difference in overall peak revs.
My graph only went to 8750, where in actuality my limiter is at set at 9800.

Stalker might have all the print outs. If not Parkitt must have em.
Mine had a lovely flat torque trace with a higher peak than Woody's Full Fat motor.
Fuel and myself are both Projex custom maps.

there was a certain amount of sniggering when mine only made 112bhp on the parkitt dyno having not long ago been on the track electronics dyno and made 119bhp...... different days different dyno's whatever - i don't know but the sniggers soon died down when all the SD's started showing the same numbers .... Very happy with the torque figure though!



......and for all the laughing at poor motoronin when his bike made 45 then 107bhp - I've since had the chance to look at his bike in my garage- it made 107 at what i estimate to be about 75% throttle - SDR owners you had a lucky escape i would say!

ive thought since the start of ownership my old rsv made more stomp, might not of seen it on a dyno but it felt that way, sdr feels more linear removing the secondarys might not of helped

My first run only produced 104 bhp @9500rpm which I was a tad shocked at so Tony did a second run which although better,still aint very impressive @107 bhp . I reckon I need to get a custom map sorted.
