KTM Trackday : 4th Sept 2008 !!!!. Cadwell park. £75

3 groups. (Novice, Inters, Fast)

I need confirmation of 'Yes, i'll have some of this'

I've been chatting with the Owner of Focused Events who has 'allocated' the 4th Sept for this.

KTM ONLY trackday.

Between myself, KTM and Focused Events we can fill this lads, really we can.

Cadwell is the most exciting track that the UK has, and personally even though it's a trek up North for me, i think it's 100% worth it.

What is need from you guys is a simple 'Yes'

I can then go back to Focused Events, assuming we can hit somewhere in the region of 60 who said "yes" previously to the 2009 trackday, then Kevin will take it as 'ours'

The plan is to have KTM dealers/bikes/demos etc.

If anyone wants a BBQ etc the night before, then i'll jump on organising this ASAP.

However, before that i need 60 people (ish) to give me a YES and it WILL go ahead.

Weeksy!! I got confused from that PM you sent me mate, there was another track day being talked about on here and I didnt know what was going on.

Anyways, the bad news is I've just spunked all my remaining cash for this year! Well, not quite that bad but as this place is so far from me (180 miles) I can't spring for it right now. I'm gutted cos it just sounds SO awesome!! All I can afford at the mo is a day at Brands....

I really hope it all happens, and if I come into some cash I will sign up....otherwise it's 2009 for me!

VEry easy Shade.

basically you need a couple of tie downs (i have spare if you need) and you strap the bike so it's bar end is on the left/right of the van. (resting on a blanket etc.

Strap 1 to the footpeg from the front, strap 2 to the peg from teh rear. 1 cable tie on the brake lever... Job done.

Insurance, isn't really an option. But why would you fall off ? you're just going round at a pace comfortable to yourself. It's not a race... THink of the best road you've ever rideen on.. .but with no on-coming cars and the most beautiful surface you've ever seen....

cool, that all makes sense mate. I figured on insurance not cos i'll fall off but in case i get knocked off. I deffo cant afford to total my bike without insurance....not even WITH insurance!!

My folks live in Louth in a nice area with a large double garage that will fit 12 bikes or so if your not confident in leaving all your bikes in vans at Keddington House. I will stay at my folks in Louth and gladly show you all the delights of Louth

Well that's me knackered then, I hung out for a couple of days to see if anybody wanted to share and now Keddington House is fully booked

Stayed here before but acccording to google it's 14.5 miles away from Keddington where everybody else is going to be.

i doubt that's true mate, all of their TD's seem to have 40 places allocated on-line only.

Not sure how many if any are taken off that for 'phone' bookings.

Anyway... just in case anyone has missed this as they seem to on KTMforum

Spoke to Paul Hugill ; owner & chef @ The Priory , Louth , earlier today and he says that he still has places available for either night . Single bed & breakfast @ £45 , and an option of eating in the hotel's restaurant on either night for an additional cost .

Their tel. no. is - 01507602930 , and if you want to have a look @ what you'd be letting yourself in for , google - "The Priory Louth" , and Robert's your mother's brother ! Or , for those as lazy as moi - www.theprioryhotel.com

A couple of warnings , i/ - if you do decide to opt for the evening meal be prepared to seek excuses to return again - Paul is a seriously skilled chef , and I've never not enjoyed one of his set menus , & ii/ - a cooked breakfast is not available until 08:00 , cereals , fruit , & tea / coffee are accessible from 07:30 , (my usual practice is to have a coffee @ The Priory and then get to the circuit for 08:00 & the briefing - a cooked breakfast not being my priority before I go on track) .

I've stopped in a wide cross section of the local B&Bs , Guesthouses , Hotels , and Pubs over the past 12 years & The Priory remains my favourite .

Usual disclaimer - I've no relationship to Paul , Shelley or their family , (the graffitti in the toilets is a lie !) , other than being a very satisfied repeat customer & as I've booked my room I'm safe in telling you lot !

aw, I'm sincerely touched by your offer mate!!!!! If it was that easy I'd be bunging it on credit and packing bags mate, but it takes a lot to put me off this; I'm knocked out financially until Xmas now and even Xmas is gonna be a lean one for us.

I havent wasted the money, I've got lots to show for it (mainly a new house!) and things are gonna get better for us really soon, it's all planned out, but the way for us to stay out of serious trouble is to be sensible and avoid stuff like this.

I aint selling my SD tho....no fu©kin way! it's NEVER gonna be that bad!

There'll b enough in the kitty for a cup of splosh down the Ace sometime soon after the meet, so you can tell me all about it though!

OMG guys, this place has some very generous people on here, but I cant accept that in good conscience, I hope you understand. It would seem unfair to others on here who maybe cant go for the same reason but have not mentioned it, I wouldnt want to appear insensitive to them. Plus I only know a few of you in person and I would feel a bit awkward accepting such an offer. I hope you understand why I feel this way....I wouldnt want others to feel pressured to contribute, I chose to be in the situation I'm in and I'll be responsible for living with the consequences (its not like I'm poor, I'm just gonna be skint for a few months, its no big deal).

There will be other times. The best thing anyone can do is go along, enjoy it and make sure it happens again If anything, I reckon that money should go into a pot to buy Weeksy a drink/kebab for sorting this out.


Now, if you dont mind, I think everyones heard quite enough from me.....somebody write something about motorbikes and trackdays before this thread really loses its way!

It's just the basic lasik surgery the one they do the most, my dad had it done about a year ago and was pretty much alright.

They will just open up a flap laser me and then close the flap again.

I think the one your talking about is lasek and they actually have to remove a circle of cornea and then stick it back on with some kind of contact lens bandage, that takes a bit longer to heal I believe.

Still, look at it this way, if it turns out I can't go then you'll have to take my place

I was trying to see if I could free up some time to pop down and join you and weeksy for a cuppa when you both hit Laguna but Ive got SO much on this weekend its untrue! No worries, you're right you know it never does itself, no matter how long I leave it if my other half had her way I'd be tiling our bathroom, but I've managed to make that job last a year already so I reckon I can make it last a bit longer.

I might try and get a few miles in on sunday but we're christening the little fella in the afternoon and prob won't have the time.

After doing Brands Hatch twice and Mallory Park once in the last 30 days my rear BT021 and front BT016 have taken a little beating I'm sure they will stick in there for another TD, though I am tempted to stick a BT016 on the rear
