I'm heading up there, won free tickets and a hotel room through Galfer. Riding from the Inland Empire up to Leguna Seca, should be a good time.
Just got back in country today so will not be able to ride up...no time to prep bike and severely jet-lagged. Will be headed up as a passenger in my buddies car Friday AM.
Not for the love of spanish eyes would I miss a GP this close to home.
I'll be draggen my ass into work on Monday and hide in the rafters, but the GP gets first place in this household.
I will be horse rooting on #35 and 04 I got camping for the first time for the SBK round and Three of my old town buds that frequented the dry lakebed races in the eighties will all be back for some drunken laughs. This time it will be shared with our stoner sons.
I wish this weekend was the full race party but commitments forced a Sunday service only.
I'm working for the USARM again this year.
Last year I worked turn 9, Rainey Curve, I'm hoping to moving up to a Flagging station this time. So, camping in the workers camp for 3 days and working the track all day!
Packing now, leaving in the morning:D

Damn - tough crowd!

Ok, who's taking odds on who going down?
Just got my tent set up at the Frog pond. Nicky Hayden stopped by to say hi to the Crew bout an hour ago!
He admitted he does not have the Ducati where he needs it(no shit, right! Ask Vale 'bout that)
Serious respect to Dani and those who ride broken. This is real sportsmanship.
I don't know what corner Im in, will post up tomorrow!
Stand up guy Hayden,,checking in with the saftey crew,,,your lucky to see him race on the Duc for the last time in Laguna,,, ,hope you get a good corner to work,,,,one that's not to "active",,,then you get to watch the race you getting paid for working or just getting free admission free lunch free tee
I hope you all have a great time over there fellas.

I will catch practice, q and the race online and on the tv.
I love watching racing on that track.
My money is on MM turn 1.
All loaded up and heading out!

Image
Interesting front row grid starting positions ,,,,now,,,,who's gonna fall off going into the hairpin already one vote for MM,,,,,I think he'll make it past,,,but who know's,,,and I think Rossi will watch the carnage and slip by at some point,,,,,,,,

And then I said ...
Another amazing race, working for the USARM/MotoGP family at Laguna.
I saw 2 SD's out there but dunno who. Aphex, Dribble?

Got my wish this year; stepped up to a Turn 6.2 flagging station!
Lots of action on 6, AMA oger, Marquez and a few others down right in front of my station.
Really cool to see so much action but not so good to see Oger get badly injured, laid out, not moving.
Marquez lowsided past the candy stripes and was up an at 'em before we could clear him.
Problem was he covered the bar controls and pushed his bike PERPENDICULAR to the track, pulling 4 handlers with him... and the handlers went with him, ACROSS A HOT TRACK to push start him. Marq gets going ,pulls slightly counter course and continues on ( this is qualifying BTW).
More to follow, gotta go, will post Team KTM superbike pics later
