Cheers Daws, thanks for the advice. I was thinking two days would be good, it might help to keep me controlled on the first day, take my time building into it.

Will I need new tyres to start with as I will have about 3000kms on the set im running now? My rear tyre is almost gone anyway, but the front seems ok still.

What rubber do you run for the track?

So, is everyone excited? I know I am!

I will be leaving the SD at home this time and concentrating on setting up my Aprilia SXV.

If you spot this bike on Saturday come and say hi....

It was a beautiful day, bring on the next one! I'm booked in for the 27th and will be racing on the 28th & 29th. It looks like we may have as many as 20 Motards road-racing! If anyone fancies watching some racing or is able to volunteer to marshal on the weekend, get intouch with the sporties http://www.motorcyclesportsmen.com.au/ it'll do your karma points no end of good!

I was a little pre-occupied on the trackday as I was chasing laptimes for the racing on Saturday and Sunday - Consequently I can't really remember much about Friday!

I do recall speaking to Joel at least once and saw BJ a few times. Bad news about the bike BJ but you didn't seem that pi55ed off about it - That's the way to be... sometimes bikes fall over, just make sure you know the reasons why it happened and don't keep doing the same thing! (says the guy who had two identical crashes in the same corner in consecutive sessions at a motard trackday - I'm a slow learner!)

My Morgan Park lap times have finally plateaued around the low 1:10s so I need to start doing some bike set-up, working on some braking markers and trying to nail the 2 slower corners every lap. I feel a 1:09 is easily within my grasp so I'm aiming for 1:08's.

I won't be riding at the next trackday but hopefully will be racing on the weekend after. Anyone attending the trackday should consider sticking around for the racing... not to watch the old blokes wobble around but to witness the incredible depth of talent in the Junior ranks - The J4 races (80cc 2T and 150cc 4T) have a pretty big field and some amazingly close racing. The J2/J3 race I watched on Sunday was hugely captivating, these kids are on 50 & 70cc Metrakit miniGP bikes and the quality of racing is really something to behold.
