RAF Wittering Track Day 27th August

RAF Wittering are having a track day on the 23rd July, I've been the last couple of years, and its been a well organised good day out, cheap as well at only £50 and all proceeds go to to charity (Help for Heroes i think)

The times are wrong it runs from 9am. Both times ive been they have only run 2 30 minute sessions so loads of track time.

so you get 1hr of track time split into 2 half hour sessions?

The day normally runs from 9 till 5 with 3 sessions per hour (20 min each), 6 x 20 min. Both times i've been they have only run 2 sessions per hour, so 6 x 30min. Be warned it is on an airfield so it is bumpy in some places and there are drain cover's etc, but you soon learn were they are!

Oh right i get you now, that sounds class! where do i sign up and pay?

Hmm that is tempting and for a great cause! I'm at Brands on the Monday but might be persuaded to get out on Sat as well.

It's worth doing for the cost. Been involved with two at RAF Benson and one at Kinloss, all were a good time.

Just wishing they'd let us loose on the taxi-way round RAF Kinloss now that its closing. Actually scrub that, I'll wait til the airfield closes and do it anyway lol.

im defo up for it anyway, emailed the kid last night asking about paying and so on. just about to check the emails and see whats happening but im well up for it, sounds a good laugh and its cheap!

I've just has an email from the organiser about this, its been postponed till the 27th August.

Its gonna be abit of a comedown AFTER Cadders

damn i would have been up for this but i'll be back at cadwell for bsb. shame as it's just round the corner for me.

what sort of layout do they run? wittering airfeild doesn't have much on it that looks like would make for a track.

More than likely, they would set up a track on the taxiway/aircraft pan.

Just do a quick search on UTube, theres a few videos aon there showing the "track"

Its basically just laid down tyres on the diffrent runways so you have to dodge the overbanding/drains/manhole covers/paint lines etc

Soooooooo......any ideas as to what's going off with date/time because on the facialbook page looks like its still on for the 24th of this month. I'm up for it and it looks like a few of us are so could do with getting a defo date and time!

I'll see if I can get hold of the organizer this week at work (different camp but should be able to get hold of them) just to comfirm for you boys.

The RAF WIttering Motorcycle Club is hosting its annual charity trackday on Saturday, August 27 · 7:00am - 5:30pm.

We utilise the runway and taxiways to generate a 3.5 mile track that has evolved into a highly regarded circuit that allows you to test you and your bikes abilities.

Full safety cover is provided with professional marshals and paramedics on hand just in case.

Cost is only £50 for 6 x 20 minute grouped sessions with all proceeds going to charity.
